Pre-Order from Gamestop online

I pre-ordered from Gamestop online for the first time yesterday, I pre-ordered Super Street Fighter IV. I used an edge card, but the amount for the game has not yet been taken out, and the status is still open. Why is this?

Like all other major retailers, they charge the card only right before shipping. So expect the order to be open until it ships.

does that "open" status say verifying or pending? what is exactly is the difference between the "pending open" and "verifying open" status mean?
