Pre-order Phantasy Star Trilogy(PS2) for $19.99

Thanks for the post, ill probably wait and GGC it.

Im sort of upset as it does not have PS3, my fav through 1-3. The Gameboy collection didnt have 4. And this one has 4, but doesnt have 3

This is so dumb put all 4 in, and PS2 all time greats of RPGs, plus *****SPOILER**********

Nei > Aeris

Back in the day my brother leveled his guy to beat Nei 2 to see if he could save Nei, he couldnt LOL.

i still have my genesis ps 4 cart :) only reason i kept my system- the gba version pissed me off not having 4, bu i'll gladly miss out on another copy of 3 if i can have 4-btw, this was sopposed to be released on ps2 a couple months ago, went the day it was supposed to be oiut, and it got pushed back till feb 2, 2005

You can revive Nei if you had Shir steal a moon dew. When your other 3 guys fight Neifirst, just use it to revive her. She only comes back for that fight though, and she dies again afterward. It's also theoretically possible to beat Neifirst one on one, but Nei would have to be at a REALLY high level and use a lot of trimates. Plus she dies after the fight anyway (I used Gameshark once that enabled me to kill anyone in 1 hit, to see what would happen

psm claims the graphix have been boosted, and a few things added-kinda like shining force when it was re-released on gba(another great old rpg btw :) P -Long Live the Classic RPGS!
why do they keep pushing part 1 out its awful
best game in the series imo.
im sure others share that opinion as well.
which is why they keep adding it to the compilations.

Ya thats what he wanted to do, save her but I told him she dies anyways but hes nub like that. And if you guys havent played PS1 that was my first RPG, I played it at a friends house, got hooked bought a sega master system JUST to play that game. PS2 is probably the best RPG I have ever played.

I was unable to play the first one, until I bought the collection for the GBA. And I think the game is amazing....obviously it looks like crap now, but I took in consideration what else was out at that time. And it was defintely ahead of the competition as far as quality. Too bad it and the rest of its series is often overshadowed by lesser quality rpgs.

is this game the same graphics and everything? or are there upgrades/ new stuff in it?

They graphics are updated and there are a couple extras here and there. I'm not sure if this game really will make it's Feb. release in NA, because Phantasy Star 2 hasn't even been released yet in Japan. I imagine 4 is going to be the hardest to update.

Gee let me think... It was the best RPG of its time? It came out before Final Fantasy did for NES (which makes the people that say its a copy of FF look silly). Great game. FF3 was the disappointment of the series, which is why its not included.

I played them all on GBA and I also though 1 was the best. 2 was also pretty good, but 3 was just a hassle to get through and not too fun, I am looking forward to play 4 though.

see i thought the opposite. yes 1 was my favorite, but i thought 2 was bad, and 3 was good.

2 was bad??!! Blasphemer!! Haha! 3 was pretty bad, it was very hrmm...how should I say divergent of the regular story, kinda like that one aliens movie where they made like it didnt exist ya know...

PS 3 was the best. But I don't remember much, it was the only PS game I've ever played too (despite PSO).
no-not just sega, Chrono Trigger for SNES was damn good, still have my copy and the re-done one for ps1
yeah, Chrono Trigger is my favorite rpg. But I was a sega fan.

Does anyone think the price is going to go up?

And if it does will ebgames.com really honor this $19.99 price?

I doubt it will raise in price.. old compilations don't sell at a high price point. But if it does, then EB will charge you the extra amount or you can cancel your order. Pre-order prices always display 'Prices subject to change' etc.

I have all 4 original PS's and 1 is without a doubt the best of the bunch. Its one of my all time favorite RPGs.

AFAIK, the collection will retail at $19.99. So it shouldn't go up.

I'm waiting to use a Gamer's Gift Card at Best Buy when it's released.

Anyone else think it's odd that they released the complete Phantasy Star Genesis games in a compilation disc on the Saturn...and yet since then every Phantasy Star collection disc is missing one of the games?

The reason this is called PS Trilogy despite missing the third game is because PS 1, 2, and 4 are linked in their storylines while 3 is not.

PS1 in this collection has a complete overhaul, both the graphics and gameplay are enhanced. The game now looks more like a good Playstation 1 RPG (or better, but it is 2D graphics so most people probably won't liken it to a Playstation 2 game). I don't know about the other two, as their remakes haven't been released in Japan yet, which makes me wonder if this will make a Feb. release. PS2 should be done soon enough, so it's feasable, but I don't think PS4 will.

Honestly, they could probably stick the remakes of the first two on there and just put the original version of PS4 on there and it would be fine, PS4 still looks great nowadays.
