The headset looks to be of cheap material. I wonder how long they last?
Like the guy above me so far so good. I've had my black ones since launch and I take them everywhere. Going to sell my black ones though for these in white. And for a quick pros-cons list if anyone is on the fence.
Pros:
- Simple design. While white might be flashy just because it's so bright, black has a nice clean look to it like the PS4 but no glossy bits!
- It fits comfortable on my head (I have a smaller head) and on various other sized heads I've heard no complaints.
- I only use the wireless for at most a few hours at a time but the battery life seems ok.
- Controls are easy to use and adjust to.
- Virtual sound is good-amazing depending on if you are using a standard profile, a genre profile, or a game customized one. The game customized ones are the BEST. The Last of Us has terrific sound design and the profile for that makes the headset sing. More devs need to create custom sound profiles for their games. And even if the game you are playing doesn't have a specific profile they still are really nice.
- PC support! With a virtual surround sound driver like Razer's you can use the virtual surround on PC. Otherwise it'll be stereo.
- 3.5mm cable included.
Cons
- After an hour it can get sweaty. No breathability but usually a break after an hour of gaming is suggested anyway.
- Very short charging cable. I would prefer something longer that way I could charge and play at the same time if the need arose.
- Sound quality using the 3.5mm cable is ok. They don't wow me but they are better than your standard pair of earbuds.
- Needs more game specific sound profiles.
???
- I would have loved if you could control the volume when using the 3.5mm cable. Don't ask me how that would work. It just would have been a nice touch to a VERY good package overall.
So considering how you can find these in a lot of places for less than the MSRP I'd say these are some of the best headsets around for the PS4. Love them to death!
