Pre-Order Red Faction: Guerilla PC for $33 at GoGamer

Good price but what exactly is "dirt cheap" shipping?? It says 7 to 14 days..why so long? Something worse than media mail?

I would pick up that game and NFS: Shift but they seem to have some wacky one pre-order at the time policy.

With priority mail it would be a be 35 bucks which is still 5 bucks cheaper than steam or other places. mmm...

I'm not sure... I figure it is the same shipping that is used when I order movies from Deep Discount DVD.

When I go to the post office (ebay sells) I am never really offered anything except for first class which is usually cheap enough for games.

I've never had a problem with GoGamer, but I never ordered anything time sensitive from them, only things for my backlog so I never actually paid attention to how long it takes.

It's supposed to be USPS First Class mail which ends up taking me about a week to get after it ships. You get a tracking number unlike Media Mail so it's a step up.
FWIW, Steam is offering this at full price ($39.99), but with the first two games thrown in for free.
If you are anti-Steam as many people seem to be or just prefer other services, Impulse and GamersGate are doing the same promotion. Impulse actually had this offer way before Steam put it up. GamersGate also lists a bonus of 250 blue coins, preorder price guarantee and preloading the game 6 hours before launch, in addition to being 4 cents cheaper for those really watching their pennies.

I'm trying to decide which service is my best bet for long term since it isn't a physical copy which I generally prefer. I'm leaning towards Impulse thanks to Stardock's stance on DRM, but I don't have experience with all of these services to know all their pros and cons yet. I already picked up a copy for the PS3 when it came out, but the inclusion of the first 2 games and all the DLC being free on the PC is very attractive. I never played the 2nd game and I only rented the first for the PS2, it would be nice to revisit it. I'd probably be ordering from GoGamer if not for wanting the copy of 1 and 2 included. I can always unload my PS3 copy on a friend to put towards paying for the PC version.

Regular price (e.g., Amazon, Egg) is $3
Gee, then why would I want to pay 10 times more at GoGamer? ;)

Thanks, OP.

Read the quote, and notice that I was making a joke about the OP's obvious typo.

What are "Blue Coins" I looked at GamersGate FAQ and did not see any menton of them...so Eh?

I've never used the service, so not too sure myself, but it appears they can be used to pay for games and I saw some mention that you can earn them for posting reviews of the games and other activities. From the number of blue coins shown next to the price of the game bundle, it appears to only be worth a quarter.

The price guarantee sounds interesting: "If the pre-ordered game drops in price within 30 days from release for more than 5 days, the customer will get the difference back in Blue Coins." Odds are they won't be dropping the price for that long until 30 days has passed though. I miss the guarantee Amazon used to have.
