pre-ordered core, camp for premium @ launch?

HeyBeerman

CAGiversary!
good news: scored a pre-order PS3 @ TRU today!
bad news: it's a core system

so ... would you:

1. keep core
2. camp out launch day for a premium
3. sell both

Maybe it's sour grapes, but is the premium really worth the $100 diff?

sell the core and camp for premium because it is worth the $100 difference

Ever since the news that PS1 games and PS2 games will be downloadable to play on PS3, I would settle for nothing less than a 60 GB HDD. If I got Final Fantasy 7 through 9, Chrono Cross, Xenogears, Valkyrie Profile, Vagrant Story and MGS, that alone is 12 gigs.

one more thing ... given the 80/20 ratio for 60GB/20GB, will I actually see my pre-order on the 17th? I'm hoping they wouldn't accept PO for systems they won't have, but then ... this is TRU.

You'll only get like a $500 profit for the core, but at least it's some thing. it pays for the majority of the premium.Btw, I didn't add the horrendous ebay and paypal fees to that price either.

Ill be camping out for the 60gb version.

And hoping Wii60ers dont drive by and shoot me...
Err... I ment I hope they dont BIKE RIDE by and shoot me...
Or their mom will drive by and they'll shoot me from the passanger seat.

Do both systems have upgradeable hard drives? I've heard both ways.

In any case, the $500 system is *NOT* a "core" or a "tard pack" the way the $300 X-Box is, and I'm getting tired of hearing it referred to that way. Personally I'll probably go for the $500 system if I can, as I already have a memory card reader, and I don't use wireless (and it can be added later if you want anyway).

indeed, In this instance Puppy I felt the 20GB version is a better deal simply because you can upgrade the HD. And with 100 bucks you could get a nice 160gb HD in that ps3. Sure the 60GB has chrome trim, wireless internet, and a memory card reader (whoopdie doo). But those are pretty much unecessary to me. They might be benificial to some other people to justify the price increase though.

The 360 Core in my opinion was just a plain ripoff since the memory card itself is 39 bucks. And who the hell won't have to save games?

At this point, I'm confused as to whether or not the drive is user replaceable...or if it isn't, whether you can attach an external drive and still use it just like the internal...or at use the internal drive exclusively for installing games, or that kind of thing.
