pre ordering games on newegg = better

CAGiversary!
first off, hello everyone im new to these forums and saying it here since i didnt see any introduction areas. Im a gamer girl and i enjoy chatting with fellow gamers :)

Anyhow getting back on topic... for those of you who dont already know, newegg.com is in my opinion the best place to get buy games. i know people around here already shop there sometimes but how many of you think to pre order from there? I use to use gamestop with their high $60 price with the added shipping and tax totaling to $68.41 :whistle2:# At newegg if you pre order like any game its $56.99 free shipping and no tax. Also it says 3 day shipping but when i did this for halo 3 a while back i got it the day it came out so theres no waiting extra days. The only disadvantage is missing out on gamestop bonus items but for some games that dont have any, saving the $11 per game really can add up.

If this is already common knowledge then i didnt do my searching very well and im sorry, but if this saves a few people some money its worth it to me :p
Amazon works as well, and the gold box and random promotions they have makes it a better choice.
really? i never get any promotions. i think one time i took advantage of one but i had to cancel it before they charged me to keep going and because of that im not getting any other special offers =/

Welcome to the forums!

A lot of Amazon deals aren't necessarily e-mailed to you all time, you just kinda have to check their website frequently and these forums (Game deals) and hopefully someone posted a promotion for everyone to see. I agree with you with Newegg. If I'm looking for a particular title and don't care too much about getting deal (like on launch date), Newegg is my default location because their service is good and consistent.

If you would like to give us a more in depth introduction or want to give us your gaming opinion, you could always make a blog on CAG. A lot of people do that and I think that's really where most introductions go.

thanks maybe i will make a blog then :)

I see that you're in Long Island, so yeah, Amazon taxes kill any lukewarm deals instantly. Newegg is great, I've been ordering from them instead of Amazon. The best part? Newegg ships from NJ, so even it's 1st class or media mail, i usually get my package in 2-3 days (i'm in NY).

And yes, please go easy on the purple, i have to highlight the text to read it...
Or you can go in store and not pay shipping.
Or you could read and learn that it's free shipping. And, hey, maybe you could learn a thing or two about getting taxed, too.

The world's going to be cruel to you.

yea i could go to the store and pick it up but i rather not have to wait on any lines on the first day and just have it on my desk when i get home from class.

and SORRY about the purple lol i didnt think it was that bad but i get the point and i wont use it anymore.

How is newegg as far as shipping and pre-order availability goes? I see games like ratchet clank which should be 10/20 but is listed eta: 10/27 and god of war collection 11/10 which is listed 11/11. I have been a frequent newegg shopper and know that their free shipping is pretty speedy at about 3 days, but with these eta estimates it seems to be a tie with amazon since their super saver shipping is atrocious, taking over a week+ to arrive. I'm also a bit skiddish and rather jump straight to gamestop for something like demon's souls since it's already out and I HATE waiting.
