Autistic people aren't necessarily stupid. On the other hand, WoW doesn't require much brain activity to play. If you can navigate windows, you can play WoW.

So let me see if I follow, an adult MANIPULATES a naive, mentally disabled teenage into running away, and this is her fault. Yeah, my mistake, I typically hold the adult pedophile responsible. Perhaps date rape victims bring it on themselves for dressing too promiscuously.

It's this kind of mentality that keeps rape victims from coming forward, that some how it's all their fault.

if you would've fucking googled it like I suggested, you might have found that autistic people can be smart (or smart enough to play WoW), but are often not socially intelligent.

I know I'm going to get flamed for this, but honestly, just like the 13 yr old who hung herself because of something some 'mean boy'(which turned out to be the mom of her one supposed 'friend' trying to snoop on her), I HAVE to ask this.

Where the fuck are the parents of these kids? I mean, the 13 yr old who hung herself wasn't even old enough to post on MySpace when she first made her profile and whatever, since I believe the minimum age is 14 to post on there.

I mean, I don't blame the victims in EITHER of these cases, I blame the absentee parents.

Ya… one of the symptoms of autism is not understanding social interactions and there consequences e.g.( why you should say hello, why you should respond to some when they talk to you, why you shouldn’t trust random strangers on the internet). It really has nothing to do with intelligence.

Maybe for the 13 year old who hung herself. but parents don't always have complete control over autistic kids.

Even if autism were no hindrance to the girl's decision-making relative to that of other 16 year olds, which is something I would contest, she's a 16 year old girl, and according to the law, a child. Just because she apparently gave out her information and met a stranger willingly doesn't mean that there should be consent acknowledged -- she's not old enough to give her consent until she's 18 years old. An adult, any adult, is held responsible by society by law to respect and protect the sanctity of a child's sexuality by not engaging in sexual activity with minors. The fact that the girl is autistic certainly makes this case more reprehensible but it's ultimately a moot point.
 
Even though the pedophile is at fault, it's just as much the parent's fault for not fucking watching what their child does. This will happen over and over because parents would rather blame someone or something else instead of learn from it. I don't speak for every case when I say that though.
