I think I'd rather you first explain how they're so similiar...

... Did you even PLAY the demo? If so, I ain't gotta explain shit.

Oh I didn't know there were prerequisites. That's okay, I think I know how this whole thing is gonna pan out... did YOU even play the demo? If so I shouldn't even have to respond to that question.

I'd agree that the platforming sections presented in the demo were similar to Uncharted 2, both in control, and camera. I think the overall presentation of both games probably ends there though.

As for the escort mission deal, an interview said it wouldn't be a huge escort mission, that she'll not only fight for herself but you'll also be able to perform special double team attacks with her. I DO think she gets trapped and kidnapped plenty as well, leaving you by yourself or with the pig guy.
I was referring to your idiotic comment about how Heavenly Sword is a copy of God of War. Obviously you didn't play the game.

As for Enslaved, I can't comment on the demo as I didn't get a chance to play it yet but so what if platforming is similar to U2? Is that bad? Probably no as platforming in U2 works well for the most part. I hear it's coming out tomorrow on NA PSN so I'll check it out then.

Also do note I said "All things considered the demo was a blast." Ninja Theory makes copies, but they make FUN copies.

I'm not digging this game. Actually, I'm not digging Ninja Theory as a whole right now since all they ever do is bash Heavenly Sword.

tried the demo and its ok. feels like an adult sly coper or jak and daxter in platforming and combat. that weird pause he does before jumping over gaps ruins his cool movement but when hes fighting he looks like an animal or like a satyr ( guys with goat legs). could be on good game though for platformer fans.

Not to many liked the demo. I enjoyed it more than I should have. Not to the point I would buy it day one,but to the point I would rent it or get it when its cheaper. I didn't think it was that bad.

Having not played Uncharted 2 (because I disliked the first one), I can't make that comparison. Demo was alright, I was disappointed I didn't get see any dual attacks with the girl. Controls didn't feel great, but at least I wasn't jumping off into nothing. I like the main character's attacks so far. Even if I wasn't drying up my gaming purchases right now, it wouldn't be a first day purchase, even with the coupon. Would want to play eventually, though.

If SHC-Gamer is able to make some sort of a deal in early to mid October(when the Fallout New Vegas $15 off coupons are active) for this game and it's around $45 I'll bite and grab this game there for $30.

But as of now I'm kinda undecided on whether or not I'm grabbing this game. If not for my slow DSL internet I'd probably download the demo and try it out to see if I like it at all, but it'll take my internet about 3-4 hours to download a gig and a half.

so you turn your ps3 on, start the download, tell it to turn off after its done and go to sleep.

I typically don't like leaving my PS3 on unless I'm sitting right there by it. The only time I ever did what you suggested was for the God Of War III demo.

But I have feeling this game may tank quickly enough that I'll be able to pick it up for $20 or less soon enough.

Played the demo. Combat was not fun at all for me, art design was nothing great. Makes me dread their take on Devil May Cry.

The only deal K-Mart is doing is a two week deal starting 10-5, $60 with a $25 coupon for a future purchase.

Probably the best deal any retailer is doing, since it's two weeks and a huge coupon. The next best deal is Amazon with a $10 coupon which is probably only for preordering.

Damn. Too bad that deal doesn't extend till the 19th of October, since I still have the Fallout New Vegas $15 off coupons and I'd consider picking it up for $45 plus $25 off a future purchase, especially if I could combine another FO:NV coupon with said $25 coupon and get a new PStwo slim for $60 out the door.

Sloppy framerate (rarely stuttered but you could tell it wasn't running smoothly)
Obnoxious combat camera
Impressively flat characters
Platforming was borderline tedious
Really underwhelming graphical effects, especially in combat

Even though the game, like Uncharted 2, is just a bunch of rehashed ideas (which is never inherently bad)-- you can tell how far a little talent goes into making a well paced action adventure. Ninja Theory clearly does not have that talent.

There was nothing remotely impressive about that demo.

The demo was very cool but a day one buy isn't there for me. Too many great games in October for me to grab it. I bet we'll see it for $20 sooner than later.

Yep, super duper busy... considering i got Enslaved and C:LoS on the same day :) I'm actually reading the comic at the moment

Will give this a spin tonight...

Me and my friend got to Chapter 8 last night. I have to say it's really grown on me. Playing it on hard the combat feels hard enough where it's not a button smasher at all. Time your attacks well or your going to get killed very quickly. I can't wait to play some more later on tonight. I keep hearing a lot of negativity on this game with the demo but I seemed to be the one of the few that the demo changed my mind into getting this day one.

I liked the demo as well. It had its problems, but it seemed to me that the game had a style and story I would like.

Finished playing this last night, and I loved it. It does have a few problems though.

Trips menu is kind of worthless most of the time- you can use her to get health boosts (if you can stand next to her), and you can use her to upgrade your equipment (sometimes). It was VERY frustrating to be stuck in a difficult section of the game and realize that she had 4 health packs that you couldn't use, or that you couldn't upgrade your equipment.

There were a LOT of times I died when all I really needed to do was upgrade some items (that I could afford to buy).

I'm definitely gonna buy this game. It's so refreshing to see a game that actually has colors other than gray and it has a good story!

Pro Tip: Buy the plasma damage upgrade before or on chapter 6. Like nbballard said, shit gits rough and you can't really upgrade on some chapters where you might really need to.

This game is honestly alot of fun and worth the time. Playing it on hard makes it alot more challenging and honestly makes it a better game imo. Do not base the game by the demo.. I honestly think that may have been an early build of the game because I have noticed no framerate issues or choppiness. Then again, I am playing it on the 360. Also... they "HEY" button makes for a hell of alot of fun.... especially if you are under the influence of any type of chemicals...

As a side note, that HEY really sounds like Big Van Vader to me....

Hah... video made me laugh.

I know this is the kind of game that is pretty much over after one playthrough, but if I were to play through it on normal to get through the stoty. Put it away for a while to clear the backlog a bit. Come back fresh to tackle hard and clean up the rest of the trophies/collectables do you guys think it would still be fun a second time after that break?

Just play on hard from the start. Seriously its not like playing halo on normal vs herioc. Hard jast adds a slight bit more of a challenge to the game and makes it more fun honestly.
Has anyone else beaten the game? I must find more people to talk to about the ending! :D
beat it last night- talk away.

I thought it was pretty cool overall.

IDK about you guys but 2 best buys by me and only found one guide. Don't really need it but it seems like a good book with lots of art. Also had $20 in rewards certs about to expire, and couldn't find anything else.

Agreed.

Even on hard I never felt the game was a challenge so for most people hard shouldn't be that bad. As long as you add your upgrade points into the right places and search out every Tech Orb you can find you'll be ok.

The stun skills are godly in this game so as long as you use those (and upgrade them asap) you'll be ok.

I never upgraded my combat skills except to go for the specific achievements as you only need you basic light and heavy attacks (along with plasma and stun shots) to carry you through the entire game. I focused on health, shield recharge (and one slot into the shield lasting longer on bullets) and then staff stuff such as 4x plasma damage. Even on hard, one plasma shot will one shot any robot except one when you have 4x damage.

What made the game stand out for me was the story, characterizations and animation / facial modeling. The gameplay was good but the other stuff most games fail on (such as story) Enslaved did excellent.

Agreed- unfortunately, the first 5 chapters of the game give you the impression that you can usually avoid confrontation, so you don't really need to get incredibly familiar with the combat, or even upgrade. Then when you get to chapter 6, you are forced into combat. In my case- i had only done a few upgrades, so I was sitting around getting my ass handed to me with 200,000 tech points in the bank.

I am playing through on normal right now and it is laughably easy. I don't see how this would really entertain a second time through. There's just not that much depth to the combat and the level design to make anything feel new. I'm bummed I didn't start on hard.

Thanks guys. Looks like I will wait to buy it on clearance then. Solid game, but if its that easy to beat on hard no reason to pay full price for a one playthrough 8-10 hour game.

Does anyone remember who was offering the comic book as a pre-order bonus? Im trying to get my hands on everything related to the game. I already bought the guide for it (which has some nice art btw), but I'd like to get the comic as well.

It starts by recounting all of chapter 1. Then it has a flashback that covers a little bit of back story of Monkey and Trip. Nothing fantastic.

Not to mention the artwork is kind of shit, the way the writer portrays the characters is not the same as they are portrayed in the game (look at the last page where Trip is pushing the escape pod launch button... in the game, she is scared and does it out of necessity, in the comic she looks like she's a heartless bitch) and the story is really just filler (not to mention the writing is sub par).

In addition to that, it's packaged inside the game box, so you need to spend another $60 to get the entire game again for one crappy 48 page comic. If you really want to read it, I'm sure someone has a scan of it.

Not to mention the comic recounts the game's first level step for step not once but TWICE in the same comic.

The comic book should be packed with the game... My copy from K-mart has it, it's a mini-comic book
