Anyone played Pretty Fighter X? I'm trading in a bunch of games to estarland.com and Pretty Fighter (along with Waku Waku 7) is on my list of old school games I want to get for the Saturn.

Called up a few Gamestops again today and they still have not received Battle Fantasia. It's looking like I might have to order online. I was also waiting on some of you guys opinions on the game before I picked it up. Only review I have seen so far is IGN's but I usually don't trust their reviews.

Confession time : I bought MK Annihilation on DVD for $4 at Walmart years ago. But it's just so damn stupid/bad/hilarious. It's fun to tear apart with friends.

When I saw it in the theater with a friend, we saw 2 dudes from high school there. We watched the movie and were like "This is so fucking BAD!!" When it ended, we talked to them and they said it was awesome. They were blazed out of their minds though. ;)

Bonus Feature : When Baraka gets knocked into a pit by Liu Kang, they use footage of Rain falling into a pit, the same footage they use earlier in the movie. :)

It's pretty awful. I got it in Okinawa for like 400 yen, played it once or twice and filed it away. It might be fun for a lark but compared to many of the fighting games on the Saturn, it's ass.

I'll be on the 360 today. If anybody wants to play Battle Fantasia (even though I'm probably the only one that has it) or SCIV, let me know.

crash into the rolling morning!

CRASH!!

does any1 wanna give me a crash course regarding KOF XI 101???

I got the game and have no idea how to play it :bomb: I got it off goozex!!

off topic, I never knew there were actually classes called "101"... I always thought it was sum cute pop culture terminology for introductory courses

that is... until I talked to sum friends who go to community college...

I was like "what??? they really make real courses called 101?? crazy!"

yessir~!!

I took my friend to see him live at a Q&A session one time,

she was so starstruck... I was like damn what if I could do that to girls??

dood's like 4 feet tall too...

Not on YouTube indeed ;(

Larc iz awesome.

There was some poll in Japan awhile back and it was voted as the best song to listen to while driving in the countryside ... ^_^

I like the song "Poison" from the live action GTO!

Yes! I was waiting for some match vids to surface. It looks like they've slowed down the gameplay quite a bit, but that's not necessarily a bad thing - it'd differentiate AA from AC.

It looks awesome, though. Can't wait for a home version... since I can't quite swing the Naomi GD-ROM... it's like $2000 after all.

I never played Pretty Fighter X on the Saturn but I've always had the impression that it was a terrible game. If you want obscure Saturn fighters could I recommend Groove on Fight? I always thought that game deserved more credit.

I think I'm picking up KoF XI tomorrow. Is it going to be too hardcore for my first serious 2d fighter (bleach doesn't count)?

It's really accessible. You can do cool looking shit within minutes.

That's what I want to hear.

Is it decently DualShock friendly? I still don't have my stick.

Yeah you won't have a problem with the DS. It's only 4 buttons.

yes, its a 4 button fighter so you shouldn't have much trouble. The shoulder buttons work well for the multipress functions as well, like rolling switching and the knockback (I think thats a 5th button, but shhh).

Ahh I forgot about that! Totally was a 5th button. R1 works fine though.

I was reading a review of KoFXI that said it's bosses were really hard. Is that true or is it just because that reviewer blows at fighting games?

Does Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus have a us date yet?

The boss in KOF XI was a bitch. I hated him. Though oddly enough, when I got better at the game, that son was a cinch to beat.

GGXX AC Plus doesn't have a release date yet, unless somebody cares to drop some unpublished info.

KOF bosses have almost always been pretty hard. Once you find a character/team you're really comfortable with though, you shouldn't have too much trouble.

Yeah, the sub bosses for the most part aren't too tough, especially adel. However, Magaki is really annoying if you don't know how to roll and dodge fireballs well (or just lock him in the corner with a bunch of peoples uppercuts, since theres a tiny frame of time where he can't block while getting up so you can just uppercut him infinitely in the corner)

I don't have too many problems with the sub-bosses, but that final boss is a bitch until you figure him out. It's not really a fighting game boss, more of an almost MegaMan boss. You have to know when and how he's gonna attack, and know the timing for rolling through his fireballs. I got my ass handed to me at first, but I eventually got it down.

I'm glad the bosses are tough. It'll extend the life of the game quite a bit for me since it will take me a while to get used to the game and characters.

As soon as I get most of the KOF stuff unlocked I'm ordering Accent Core. I know you said it's not noob friendly chac but it's just so cool looking.

Honestly, if you've spent some time with KOF XI, you'll be fine for Accent Core. It's not Virtua Fighter levels of noob-unfriendly... but you probably won't know what a lot of the intricacies are for or how to use them bla bla bla. But I'm assuming you're new to the genre, which is why I said play KOF XI first - just cuz it's a good primer.

I gotcha. Yeah, I'm new to the genre. SC4 is the first fighting game I actually took the time to learn combos and practice and shit. I still completely suck at it though, and that's why I figured I'd try the 2d shit. They seem slightly less complicated because you can only move in two directions.

To answer Jim's question, the people that are playing Battle Fantasia on SRK are really liking it. There hasn't been too much concern about lag online, though it has been mentioned. My favorite CVS2 player Buktooth apparently is great at the game and plays online. I'm thinking about driving out to San Jose today to see if this Japanese Game/Electronics store has the PS3 version. I'm sort of lazy at the moment though, so who knows.

Also to address everyone saying they can't find the game etc....someone from Aksys games posted a bunch of stuff in the Battle Fantasia thread over at SRK, here's a snippet

Yeah in the US version, we took out a lot of the BS and infinites that even were still found on the consumer version of the Japanese console release. Some character balanced was done as well so that everyone is some even playing field. And of course, all the text has been translated. However, like previously mentioned, we kept the arcade version in the game as well for those that love the cheapness.

Yeah saying "limited quantities" is putting it lightly but what else can I at this point? Its a hard game to find. Its like finding PS2 US Cvs2 right now. Almost next to impossible! However, that being said, I did see Battle Fantasia at Frys. Keep looking folks, I'm sure the game will turn up shortly and it doesn't guys, order the crap out of from online. This way GameStop sees a huge influx and realize they gotta ship it out to meet the demand.

Keep the hope alive gentlemen

I've only played the first bloody roar. I actually loved it whenever I would go to my friend's house.

Though after that, the subsequent games never caught my attention. Were any of them decent by any chance?

Also definitely stoked about MB:AA. 2 new chars and 3 modes for each is great. That cello shaped weapon is super fantastic happy fun time awesome.
Ah, who'm I kiddin'? I gotta get me Battle Fantasia. And quick!
I feel ya bud. I just played the japanese demo again and it's really fun. If the 360 controller mod I'm about to try goes well I'll probably get it.
