Possibly YMMV, but when I stopped in CompUSA (in nashville) to pick up a hard drive this morning I noticed a big rack of games that were all 50% off. Pretty sure that the sale lasts all weekend. There were lots of PS2 and XBOX, a good number of XBOX360 and DS, and a few Wii games. I wish I'd had the foresight to take a photo, but the game selection was decent and wasn't just sports games and bargain bin fodder. Personally, I only picked up Atelier Iris 3 for $16, but seemed like there were some other good deals, particularly for X360.

Figured I'd post this cause I haven't seen any mention of it in any black friday posts, and it seems like one of the better video game deals of the day (which isn't saying too much). Sorry I can't remember the selection any better. It's pretty early. Perhaps others can help if they're venturing out there anyway? good luck...

In their Black Friday ad they said 50% off all clearance console games. It's the last little square at the bottom of the last page.

It's stated in the Sticky in this forum... And it is the revival of the 50% off clearance/discontinued.

I got lucky myself as there was a "Manager's Special" of B1G1 Free going on for these games as well and it stacked as the 50% off is automatic in the system.

Picked up some decent games mostly just to fill holes in my 360 collection but nothing great

So you're saying you bought one GoW at half price, and got another free?
Gears of War is a clearance/discontinued game?!?
It's one of the games (PC version) shown in the ad at $49.99.
Unless this was a big YMMV, this should have received a lot more attention, rather than Target and Amazon having GoW 360 at ~$40.

$49.99 is/was the discontinued price of Gears of War [360 version] at CompUSA its been this price/status for awhile now luckily no one as this store were buying em.

Might have to stop by my store tomorrow. Last time i was their they were doing BOGO free on all clearance games so i picked up Atelier Iris 3 and Prey, Maybe i can get it price matched as well.

My CompUSA had a sign up that said the 50% off sale was only in effect Friday morning until noon. I had them ring up a couple of clearance games anyway, but no discount was applied, even after they hit total.

Yeah the 50% was a doorbuster deal until noon. I was able to combine 50% off clearance prices + buy 1 get 1 free, which was an incredible deal...pretty much 75% off retail or higher if done correctly.

On Saturday they are still doing buy 1 get 1 free, but 50% is definitely over. Too bad their clearance prices are usually just 1 penny under retail, or else simply buy 1 get 1 would be a good deal. If you can actually find good clearance games like Okami, Atelier Iris 3, etc...then even just Buy 1 regular price get 1 clearance price free is a nice deal.

Some useful information, hopefully:

Anything priced at $x.98 will be a clearance priced game, obviously--so those will all be free, if you're told otherwise ask for a manager. Also "discontinued" games are included as well, which are still priced at $x.99, many of them. Some of the ones I'm pretty sure are discontinued but not clearance priced are Gears of War, Fatal Inertia (360), Soul Nomad, Prince of Persia Rival Swords (Wii). Very YMMV, but those all could possibly ring up as free if you buy a regular price game.

Prices rarely change at CompUSA so everthing should be well marked, that is assuming you can even find a price tag.
