Prey 360 Brand New $11.99 Shipped

I heard the xbox version wasn't too hot, but prey was awesome on linux/windows. Super-fun level design w/ gravity boots/tracks, and portal elements. This really brings me back to the days when we played painkiller's multiplayer and joked about the prey's single player campaign. Just shows how much shooters have devolved since then.

Prey is a great game and one of the most underrated shooters of this generation...probably because it was all single-player if I remember.

That said, the game is $2.99 used at Gamestop. No reason to pay that much more for a new copy.

The 360 version was great. I played through the campaign about 4 or 5 times. One of those games I never traded in since I'd get the urge to play it from time to time.

good to hear! i recommend it on whatever platform, then!

This game is very, very dated. It's pretty much a corridor shooter like Doom. They tease you with some neat anti-gravity floors and stomache-churning portals but they never use them to good effect.

I think you're better off with watching the movie "Fire in the Sky" for that really weird alien/spaceship scene.

I just beat Prey over the summer.

I'm more than timid in buying used 360 games with respect to disc condition...not to mention gutted used copies...shipping costs...tax...etc., I only go in a GameStop as an absolute last resort.

Good deal for those that don't mind visiting GS or having gutted copies.

You're right, it does feel very dated. I picked a copy up a few months ago and didn't like it that much.

Prey is one of my favorite 360 games, that being said you can get it for three or four bucks used at Gamestop...

I understand all that, but even if the disc is scratched you get 30 days just to make sure it plays OK or you can return it. Keep in mind this is CAG, I'm sure most people here would gladly put up with what you mentioned if the game works if they're only spending $2.99 (we're talking about 30 cents tax at the most here) over $12 online.

But yeah, if you have to have a new, sealed game, I imagine this one is probably difficult to find new these days, so it's a decent deal in that regard.

It is dated, but I'm just in love with that Doom 3 engine for gameplay. Quake 4 used it, too, and I still go back to that game just for the gameplay feel. If Doom 3 didn't make you choose between a flashlight or a gun I'd probably have played that more, too, since I still own it for XBOX along with it's expansion, both of which are backward compatible on the 360.

Sounds like I'll enjoy it then...I'm also looking for a copy of Quake 4.

Prey 2 looks much better and is being produced by Bethesda.

I'm picking it up before new copies increase in price...elsewhere the new prices seem to be $18+

I'd imagine the prices will increase when the follow-up releases. Very few new copies for sale on Amazon too.

Prey 2 E3

No offense but I doubt the price will ever increase on this game. There must be a ton of them out there if Gamestop is selling them used at that price. Plus Amazon still has them new, in stock. You're talking about a 5 year old game.

Also, I know you said you hated going there, but if you just want to play Quake 4 and not keep it sealed, Gamestop has that one for $4.99 used.

Yeah, I saw that too, tempted...tempted to call them and ask about the condition. Really want that bonus disc for Quake II. Is that a remastered version?

Those are third party fulfilled by Amazon...when Prey 2 rolls out, you can bet the price will increase for the initial story, especially new copies.

I can't explain this one either.

I just called about Quake 4, and the conversation just reinforced why I don't do business there...unless I'm trying to get a brand new DualShock for $19.99 ;).

The employees at the Gamestops in my area are actually very helpful. They're also super busy this weekend with the B2G1...but that's possibly another reason to grab a few cheap games...they're even cheaper right now.

Despite an absolutely horrible lead character and ho-hum story, the gameplay mechanics made the game a lot of fun. Its definately worth the play through if you get the game for cheap on either 360/PC. It won't rock your world, but it'll keep u entertained.
thats a lot for such an old game. it's a good game, just not for that price.

Not worth it when GS is offering it used for 2.99.

How is this a deal?
For the love of baby jesus...you're comparing used to new...wtf?!?!

Please find me a cheaper alternative NEW...otherwise be content with your awesome capability to purchase used games for $2.99 with roaches, boogers, scratches, missing cases, missing instructions, humans, bodily fluids...or whatever the fuck else is related to buying used games from GS...not to mention avoiding the god damn store altogether.

For myself, and I'm sure others, this is worth the price BRAND NEW.

Jesus fucking Christ...did GS send out a memo over this or something???
