price drop on Xbox 360 wireless network adapter

Only if they want to pay a lot for a bit of convenience when first setting it up. In terms of functionality, I don't think it's any different.
Is there a real good reason why anyone would want this over the $20 ones?
What 20$ ones?
This may be a dumb question, but do I have to have an existing wireless network to use this? I'm assuming you do, but I read something about if you get two of them they can talk to each other. Does anybody know?
Sorry yea, you do need a wireless network. Basically just a wireless router. They come real cheap nowadays though.
I need a D-Link one... I got that Linksys adapter, but i'm pretty sure it's not compatible.
My friend just got the linksys and it works fine for his 360. Didn't even require setup.

For the sake of disclosure, I must admit that I too own the older Microsoft Wireless G adapter .
It works pretty well.

I did have one issue where when I physically moved my xbox and the xbox wireless router, the signal was not strong enough upstairs. When I moved my equipment back downstairs, I could not connect to my wifi network. I had to go into my network settings on the 360 and manually choose my network again. Took me a few days to figure that out. lol

$88 is not cheap, but some people might be interested in the 360 wireless adapter for the convenience. It is small, sexy, sleek, AND bloody convenient.

;)

I got a router and a gaming adapter from D-Link like three years ago, for like $50 during a Thanksgiving sale (didn't get the rebates until January, but oh well). It took until like last month to get the thing set up properly, but now it's been running simply fantastic.

You'll see a lot of bad reviews for products, but in my opinion it's just becaues wireless networks are so damned complicated people blame it on the product rather than their stupidity.

No WPA encryption.

I got this Zyxel router for $9.99 AR at CompUSA: http://www.compusa.com/products/pro...8&Pn=P_330WC_4_Port_Wireless_Broadband_Router

It can be setup as a wireless bridge with 4 ports so you can connect all your game systems at the same time. Works great with XBOX live. It also supports WPA security and with the newest firmware, WDS. I haven't tried the WDS yet cause my main router does not support it, but its nice to have for the future.
