What was crappy about Gungrave OD?
Maybe "crappy" is an overstatement, but I just don't think it delivered on the promise of being a better Gungrave.
G:OD failed on a couple of levels (of course this is just my opinion)
-- The talking head cut scenes were awkward -- maybe necessary as a quick turn around budget title, but out of place given the full CG cutscenes found in the orig Gungrave
-- The boss and sub boss fights were not as dramatic, and each lacked the "big punch" found in the first game, which was the the execution of a cool move queing an over-the-top cutscene
-- The levels were more generic, and interchangable with just about any shooter
and my biggest complaint, and what caused me not to finish the game:
-- The two new playable characters behaved like spoiled 4 year olds -- what was supposed to be constant in-fighting between the swordsman and Gungrave's young assistant came across as someone just needing a "time out" or even better, a spanking, until they can learn to play better with others. The character development, or lack-there-of drove me away from this title.
