Not sure how long this offer has been around, but I couldn't find a thread for it and thought it was worth noting --

I was in Best Buy this evening, and saw that they have a bunch of titles (most, but not all, horror-related) with Movie Cash in them for Priest (which opens this weekend). All were on sale for $12.99, and the Movie Cash is worth "up to $12 ticket value". Since my girlfriend and I were planning on seeing it anyway, for me it was essentially like pre-paying part of the tickets and getting two blu-rays for $0.99/each.

I didn't make a list, so there may be a few more titles that I'm missing, but the titles that I remember seeing were:

The Road
Zombieland
30 Days of Night
Resident Evil
Resident Evil: Apocalypse
Resident Evil: Exitnction
Underworld
Underworld: Evolution
Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day
Bram Stoker's Dracula
Angels and Demons
Hellboy
The Fifth Element

Note that the movie ticket is tied to the sticker on the front (I haven't opened my blu-rays yet to check, but I suspect the code is printed on the underside of the sticker -- it says "see back of sticker for details"), so copies of the titles without stickers on them will presumably not contain the movie ticket. Worth noting because the store that I was in had put copies of some of the titles without the sticker on the display rack mixed in with the ones with stickers.

I was going to ask for what format it was for and read your Note, you might want to include that in the title for people (like myself) that don't read the whole post all the time.

I hope there are more movies to choose from because the only one I believe I don't have from the list is Underworld Evolution. I was thinking about watching the movie in the theaters and if I jump on this it would be a sure thing.

Haha, oops -- fixed it. I stopped buying DVDs a while ago, so I tend to forget that another format exists now. ;)

There may have been a couple more (like I said, I was typing the list from memory), or there may have been titles that my store was out of. Worth checking out, anyway.

I grabbed The Road and Zombieland myself. I've wanted The Road, and while I've seen better prices than $12.99 for Zombieland (it's $11.99 on Amazon right now), I figured that the movie ticket more than makes up for any extra that I paid.

I really wish movie studious would implement this more often, especially with theater prices getting outrageous with the inclusion of 3D and iMAX. I used to go to the theater a lot but now I question myself "should I just wait to buy it" since a lot of movies are coming out in about 3 months.

More movie cash/movie tickets? lol

Over the last month I've gotten 2 free Cars 2 tickets, 3 free Pirates 4 tickets, 3 free Bridesmaids tickets, and 1 free X-Men First class ticket. May bite on this too..though Priest doesnt seem to look that great imo..but for free may see it.

Haha, yup. I've gotten in on the Cars 2 and Pirates 4 tickets. Wasn't the least bit interested in Bridesmaids. Where was the X-Men offer? I'd probably jump on that one if it's a good deal.

Priest looks . . . entertaining to watch on a large screen. I'm not expecting an incredible movie, or even one that I'll ever want to see a second time, but I also don't expect to be bored.

I kind of wonder what the strategy actually is on these movie ticket deals. They've essentially killed all of their profit on either the ticket or the blu-ray, or possibly even a significant portion of both. Not sure how it's profitable for them? But at the same time, I'm not complaining one bit.

I just got done searching for what FlamedLiquid mentioned, I believe the only way to get the first class ticket is to buy the xmen trilogy. I didn't see it mentioned any other way to obtain it.

Ah, I bought that back when it first came out, so I guess I'm out of luck on that one then. Oh well.

Do we know what movie theater chains the movie cash is for? I saw the same thing tonight, considered picking up something, but don't want to be out of luck if it's not the theater chains in town.

I was just at the Best Buy in Mall of America, and they have a bunch of Resident Evil Blus for 7.99 and the Priest Movie Cash on them. RE Apocalypse Blu also has it and is also 7.99. If you're planning on seeing Priest its well worth it!

Yeah, it's on the back of the sticker. That's how the Fast Five movie cash worked. You'd be better off not even trying to peel the sticker off, but instead just remove the plastic wrap with it still attached and get the code that way. My sticker ripped when I was peeling it off and I lost one character in the middle. I had to go through the alphabet until I hit the right letter when redeeming.
Where was the X-Men offer?
I was in Walmart earlier and saw the X-Men cash on some blu-rays. I can't remember which films, but they weren't X-Men.
edit: Predator was one them.

I still have an extra Fast Five code I haven't redeemed if anyone wants to trade one of their multiples for Bridesmaids or X-Men. Send me a pm if interested.

Yeah, I saw this as well. RE & RE: Apocalypse for $7.99 each with ticket.

I 'just' got the X-Men First Class ticket today when I bought the Predator bluray at Best Buy. Did the trade in a dvd get $5 off thing. Predator came to $4.99 plus tax. So with the free ticket...............hell of a deal.

Also if the first 2 Resident Evils are only $7.99 and come with tickets..I'll bite for sure. :)

Thanks op, the wife wants to see Priest and we wouldn't mind owning Zombieland. Throw in the fact that I have $15 in reward certs, and this is definitely a win for me. ;)

Huh. The RE titles were marked $12.99 at the store that I was at, but to be fair I didn't actually try buying them, so they may have rung up for less. I may have to check a different store and see what I find before I open the movies that I bought (though I really want the ones that I got more than the RE movies, so maybe I should just keep them).

Oh, nice. I have the old version of Predator, but this would be a good excuse to upgrade. Was it marked on the outside of the package? I didn't see any stickers or anything on the copies at the store that I went to, but I may have to check another store for that too.

yep it had a sticker on the outside of the package. The code was under the sticker.

The MOA store has some signs out showing the 7.99 price for a lot of movies with a display in front next to the new releases. I don't think that RE Apocalypse was up front with all the others, but there was a sign under it in the alphabetically arranged section. I don't know if this price is nationwide.

Side Note: Make sure to check the case, not all of them have the Priest sticker.

Hmmm, Dracula might be worth it if I can trade my DVD for $5 off as well. I just get the feeling Priest is going to suck, so waiting on a lower price is what I'm leaning towards.

Last week I picked up Resident Evil + RE: Appoclypse for $7.99 EACH (so they were "free" because I already want to go see Priest). To top it off, I used giftcards from trading in 3 epic mickey's, AND got RZ points too :)

I also picked up casino for 7.99 (which had a Fast/Furious 5 ticket) and I already had one "free" ticket to FF5. Funny though, when I went to the movies (I have a crown card) and it printed out another free ticket to use ANYTIME.

Score.

lucky. I bought Casino on blu last week at Best Buy and didnt get a Fast 5 ticket. ah well.
Resident Evil was $7.99 last week
and according to bestbuy's website it's still on sale. Along with Apocalypse.

If you're referring to the Trade & Save promotion, Dracula isn't one of the eligible titles.

The movie looks pretty bad to me, but I was planning on picking up some of these movies anyway so I guess I'll consider it the next time I'm go to BB
pull the sticker............
stickers are stuck on pretty well for anyone thats even thinking of pulling a douchebag move like that. I had to read the code through the wrapper because I couldnt get the stickers off of the wrapper.

Stopped in tonight and managed to find one copy of Predator that had the X-Men sticker on it. It didn't have the trade-in offer sticker on it, so I was afraid they were going to deny me getting it with that, but the cashier that I got didn't even look at it. Now if I can just find a second cheap movie that has the X-Men sticker as well, that would be awesome (though I guess even one free ticket is good for a movie we would almost certainly have gone to anyway).

Edit: Though huh, looking at the reviews, it actually looks like the earlier blu-ray release of Predator (that I already had) was better than this newer one. Heh, and I thought I was getting an upgrade. Oh well, $4.99 for $12 worth of movie cash still isn't a bad deal at all, and I can probably sell the disc for at least a few bucks if nothing else.

Edit again: Oh, haha, looks like the version with the X-Men movie cash is the old version. They had a piece of cardboard in front of the cover that made it look a bit different (and hid what it looked like), but looking at the back, it's the same one that I have. Oh well, again, I was really buying it for the movie cash anyway, so it doesn't matter to me. Hell, if I find another copy with the movie cash on it, I may buy that one too.

Yup, I'm pretty sure they're intentionally made so that if you try to pull the stickers off, they'll get destroyed. Best to just remove the wrapper and read the code through it, and not even try to get the sticker off separately. For a while, they were double-wrapping the discs with the stickers on them, and putting a second layer of plastic over top of the sticker, though they seem to have stopped doing that with these latest ones.

Still, even if you can do it, if you're pulling stickers off in the store without buying the blu-ray, you're a douche and a thief regardless.

Just got back from Best Buy and they had a bunch of $9.99 blu ray movies with $10 to see Brides Maids. I decided to get Baby Mama on blu ray because I have a bootleg DVD of it.

Pretty nice with the RE movies for $8. I think I'll get zombieland as well. What theatres are these good for? Regals/AMC/Lowes???

FYI - you know you don't have to see priest. Just get in and wander elsewhere...just throwing it out there.

It shouldnt matter if an eligible title for the $5 off trade in promo has a sticker on it or not, unless your Best Buy is run by complete dicks. I've made 2 runs getting 5 blus both times, and all together I'd say only 4 of the 10 had the Trade and Save stickers on them. best Buy doesnt go through all their blus to stick those stickers on them. My guess is they got a shipment of the titles with the stickers on them already ad any titles they had in the store already they just left like that.
Still, even if you can do it, if you're pulling stickers off in the store without buying the blu-ray, you're a douche and a thief regardless.
lol i bought the movie :D still its very easy to pull off the sticker without damaging the code. Anyone bitching about the codes on the smaller stickers being destroyed on pull has got to be very careless/impatient. And oh btw...when did I say PULL THE STICKER WHILE IN STORE?!?!?

It's pretty much anywhere. I originally thought you have to wait out the first 2 weeks but they will take it the first weekend as it's movie cash and they get refunded by the studio.

I agree, you don't have to watch priest if you don't want to. Technically the ticket buys you admission to a movie. Just go watch whatever you want since it's all fair and they can't say shit because it's legit.

Yeah I was considering getting In Bruges for 9.99 which comes with a Bridesmaids ticket, I could use that to see Thor or something. But then again there's still the agony of having to go to the box office and say "One for Bridesmaids, please".

I seriously doubt the people there care what you see. It's not like they are gonna say "Why do you want to see Bridesmaids? Your a guy!"

My biggest regret was getting tickets for "Your Highness".......OMG that was a fucking waste of time and totally stupid. Should have walked out of that one.

I dont think Bridesmaids screams chick flick as much as other all female cast movies solely because its produced by Jedd Apatow. I'm looking forward to it more then Priest.
lucky. I bought Casino on blu last week at Best Buy and didnt get a Fast 5 ticket. ah well.
Just so you know, the UPC is the same, so you could even-exchange it.
Can this be combined with the $5 credit from the recycle/trade in DVD promotion?
If any of films with the films that come with movie cash were on the trade and save list, of course, but as far as I know none of the titles with the Priest cash are on the list.

Got back from both Bridesmaids and Priest. Gotta say I liked Bridesmaids more. Preist is an alright flick though, just predictable, some poor acting aside from Bettany, and 3D wasnt needed. I'd give it a 6/10. Worth seeing for free.

I got RE 1 ($8), zombieland and the road (13 each) for a total of 3 priest tickets (up to $12) that expires on 7/31 which I will use to see any movie down the road. So many movies coming out so this is such a great deal. I also picked up 2 ps3 move bundles over there. Best buy raping my wallet lately. And I welcome it! Excellent deal!

just went to my local BB. I got Zombieland for $13 and it had 2 stickers on it. Used my free two Priest tickets to go see Thor 3D. Winnning.

Hehe!

Like I said, the employees don't care. Only ONE time I was ever asked to show my stub and that was opening night of RE:A. agh...3d is just a waste.

We went and saw Priest tonight. I actually thought that it was pretty good for what it was -- a comic book turned into a movie, nothing more and nothing less. The plot was about as advanced as a comic book, and the characters had about as much depth as a comic book -- that is to say, both were limited, but adequate to tell the story. There were lots of cliches, but there were some interesting ideas as well. The story line was coherent, and it wasn't boring. I'm not sure what else those who didn't like it were hoping for from it -- I had a good idea what to expect from it, and it met those expectations. I don't know that I'll ever feel the need to watch it again (though who knows, maybe its blu-ray will come with a good movie cash offer some day), but I don't regret seeing it.
