its so weird, the extended play has some HARD ass questions, but the live show has easy ones. but I guess it does make sense, because in the real show you have to do good in the extended play to get into the mob or be the One.

Thanks for the info. I didn't realize that. Guess I need to do some more extended play. You're right though, some of those questions on extended play come way out of left field.
That has to be the most bullshit law I've ever seen. Aren't wages a "skill-based prize"? So, nobody in CT should be able to have a job either. That makes sense.
ah...no. This is a law that clamps down on gambling
ah...no. This is a law that clamps down on gambling
Regardless of the intent, it's bullshit. If your state has problems with gambling, fine. Crack down on gambling. But don't throw some ridiculous blanket clause over everything. If a 4th grade teacher gives out candy to the winner of a class spelling bee, he/she is breaking this law. That's just lazy governing.

^ I still don't know if they are blocking you from winning, or just leaving the possibility open to you getting prosecuted FOR winning...

I honestly will stop playing now if I can't win anything. I like the game, and feel I'm pretty strong, but it really is time wasted if it's for nothing, lots of other stuff to play.

How was user submission night, can't believe i missed it!
How can something like this be illegal in CT when it has Huge casinos like Fox woods and mohegan?
Mohegan Sun is on indian land. Don't know about Fox Woods though I would be surprised if it wasn't

well of course they both are Indian land, had a blond moment for a second and totally looked over that little fact. So obviously its different but, still smacks of ridiculous.
Mohegan Sun is on indian land. Don't know about Fox Woods though I would be surprised if it wasn't
they are both on Indian Reservations.

CT had the chance to take a casino in downtown Hartford, and passed. Which I believe fucked the city for years to come, not to mention sealed the fate of the Whalers.

so I just did what I thought wasn't possible.. LOL. I was in the top 10 after the first round, then missed a question, then jumped to #6, then was #1, then finished #2. I better be in the mob or something haha.

Finally got to play this yesterday. Kinda fun but the questions, eeks man. I started off getting 7/11 or so then they started asking things that I had never even heard of. The thing that pisses me off the most is when you answer a question only to realize quickly that you answered it wrong.

My Wife and I are extremely pissed over the CT debacle because we enjoyed the beta but don't want to risk anything when it comes to prizes and what not. I've signed up and won MS points before through Microsoft drawings and what not, just because we are part of the Mob or the One and win a few hundred points they should just be able to tax us. Well whatever It's a shame I'm going to miss out on this great game when beta is over.

for some reason it won't let me download the beta o.o. Keep saying Can't connect to server or Can't download 1vs100 babhalbh. I am on gold member ship o.o.

Congrats, all that time you put in paid off ;)

I was going to give it a shot yesterday but when I go to the 1 v 100 page it just keeps showing download but never gives me an option to play. It's not in my downloaded games or anywhere else. Where do you actually start the game?

It said it downloaded but also said could not download about 5 times.
My friend took first, I think, in the mob over the weekend. Got any xbla of his choosing. Pretty cool.
Then your friend lied to you because

1)You can't win prizes in Beta other than the Sweepstakes which everyone gains entries to just for answering questions

2)If he did win it would be an XBLA of Microsoft's choosing not of his own.
Congrats, all that time you put in paid off ;)
haha I actually stopped playing for a bit until last night, I completely blew after finishing in 2nd that round though.

This is why you had a problem BBS

Issue Update - 8:20pm Pacific Got over the immediate marketplace hurdle, and now the issue with the latest arcade titles downloading is resolved.
We still have some newer content we need to get re-added to get it up there, and we are still having issues with the 1 vs. 100 download.
Updates to follow.

i don't think his friend "lied to him".. I think his friend just saw the thing that pops up saying you won a XBLA title, and he didn't realize he actually doesn't win anything yet.

I'd still like some official announcement clarifying the CT issue when playing the game when it goes official.

that also said he could choose any game he wanted to?

I think I was in the mob once, but I can't even tell, because it seems like every time I go to the live show I'm in the mob, unless there is something I'm obviously missing here.
that also said he could choose any game he wanted to?
have u seen the pop-up? it says Free XBLA title... so im assuming his friend saw it, saw it didn't specify a title, and thought he really won it.

not trying to defend someone I don't know, but I bet it was an honest mistake

Can someone PLEASE explain to me how mutant dog 123 is Number 1 EVERY game??

The odds are so impossible that he is number 1 every game he plays.

"If your significant other proposes to you in a video game...

...you might be a redneck!"'

That was fucking terrible. I've never heard a more awkward and uncomfortable proposal in my life. The bride-to-be didn't sound too thrilled either. For anyone who missed it, here's a basic summary:

Chris Cashman: All right, are you ready to do it?
Guy: Yeah.
Cashman: Where's your girlfriend?
Guy: She's in the other room.
Cashman: And you're just going to go ambush her?
Guy: Yeah.
Cashman: Ok, go ahead. We'll just tag along and listen.
Guy: *takes, at most, 2 steps* Will you marry me?
Girl: Yes.
Cashman: Oh, wow...there you go. Can I talk to her?
Guy: Here.
Girl: Hello?
Cashman: So, you're getting married?
Girl: Yeah
Cashman: Were you surprised?
Girl: This is just like him.
Cashman: This is his style?
Girl: Yeah.
Cashman: Are you excited?
Girl: ...
Cashman: You said yes right?
Girl: What do you want me to do?
Cashman: Well, it is a question. Do you want marriage...or do you want the mob? *nervous laughter*
Girl: Uh...mob, mob! haha

#-o WTF?? My wife's suspicion is that they're already married and were just scheming to get on "national video game..radio", haha. If that's the case, the least they could have done was put on a better show. That was just pathetic.

Yeah, 7,000 people getting that parachute question wrong is concerning.

I think the question was something like "What would you use to slow your descent out of an airplane?" and the answers were:

A) helmet
B) umbrella
C) parachute

Again, I don't recall the question exactly but it was something like that.

Well I tried it today but had no luck, first having issues with the episode info wasn't available and then the 1 vs 100 server could not be reached or something like that. The second was after I had downloaded the "game add-on". Oh well, didn't think it'd work with my satellite connection anyways but wanted to try it since I finally remembered the time of the game lol.

From reading the excerpt it appears a guy asked his girlfriend to act as though they were getting married as to "hopefully" get a price or a chance to be the "1".

Also what about a group(s) for 1v100; haha. Seriously though everyone would have a better chance, if you answer shared...It would make the game more enticing to play and everyone can improve their chances together to be in the mob, etc.

I thought of this, but in a round about way, it makes the game even more pointless. If you're eliminating competition among your small group of 4 by sharing answers, the only reason you're playing is out of the small hope that ONE of you will eventually get picked to be in the 101. I think if you're that desperate, you might as well find something else to play.

After last night, I'm 100% convinced that their alleged "formula" for choosing the 101 is bullshit. No way would so many people in the lower hundreds of gamerscore (last night had a "one" with a GS of 120) play this game enough to give them a favorable chance of being picked.

And if anybody noticed, the numbers have been dropping since a week ago. Last night, the highest total I saw playing was 76,000. The most I've ever seen was 110,000 (last Friday possibly?) That's a pretty big drop for only one week. Between the 500 sweepstakes entry limit and always being put in the crowd, I think people are starting to get turned off by the game. As much as I liked it at first, I think it's grown stagnant.

I can't imagine them doing this for another 5-6 months until they open the game up officially. They need to come clean about the real selection process, or totally revamp it by having multiple mobs at a time (have the "one" square off against one group, and let the other groups compete amongst themselves for prizes). If they just leave it as is, I don't think anyone will be willing to pay to sit in the crowd week after week.

It may be due to the immense amount of shows they're doing now. The past few weeks had Extended Play during the off days and the big show were the stars, but they had Extended Play episodes before the big show yesterday. That probably burnt some people out or confused them since I also got on and was disappointed that it wasn't a full show, so I decided to play something else until the big show started an hour and a half later. They should keep it simple and have Extended Play on off days and let the live shows be the stars on the weekend.

Yeah, good point. I agree with that too. They really only need to have 20 extended play sessions each week. ie. 4 per night, Sun-Thu. Then have the live shows on Friday and Saturday. That's plenty of trivia for everyone.

I think I played this 2 nights. The first one I only was on it for about a half hour. The last time was for the full time. They need to do somthing so that you have a higher chance to get into atleast the mob like every one is saying. Is this going to be somthing you have to pay to play or just be a gold member?

was 54,000 tonight. not sure i will pay for this game there are people who cheat out there and those are the ones that will win the chances of a person like me getting in slim to none. I have a average of about 1 second or less on time, played ass loads of shows both live and extended play and have a 60% accuracy. then you get some assclown up there that can not answer the first question? or 50 missed the phone question? give me a break

I've played a few times, but I agree with evilmojo12542, I wouldn't pay a dime to play this. Too slow and too cheesy.

Eh, it's not revolutionary but it isn't too bad. I've only played a total of 3 times and did get into the mob once. I wouldn't pay to play, only if it was free as a gold member I might from time to time.

I noticed the questions were much easier in live play than nearing the middle or end of extended play. Oddly enough the question about toxoplasmosis I had just learned about in one of my classes.

Wonder if they can find a way around resetting everything when The One disconnects? I don't see how anyone could have enough time to Google the questions, but obviously if you play in a group, whether in person or through voice, you'd have a lot more heads to work with and get a lot more correct answers.

All through the game this evening, I had a yellow symbol in my name bar that I'd never noticed before, but I couldn't tell what it was... Does anyone know?

Yellow symbol on the left means you're the leader (highest score in your group). The shields on the right are skips, so you prolly were the leader. Congrats!

I was pretty sure that the leader star actually appears under your picture, though if they moved it, it might make since, especially since I was the only one in my group all night (Which was also kinda weird). Since it was the live game, it wouldn't have been skips.

I kinda wish I had snapped a picture of it. It was a little yellow symbol on the right side of the green name bar at the very top. Looked like something with a diagonal line slashing through it. I wondered if it meant I had somehow gone private, but I double checked and made sure I was set to public. Weird...

I see some in this thread have said somthing about paying for this game. Is Microsoft going to charge to play this game?
