Prince of Persia Forgotten Sands: Wii, PS3, or 360?

I've been eyeing it for awhile, and I heard from an acquaintance that the Wii version is more difficult or more worthwhile than the other two console versions, and I really wanted a second opinion. While I'm obviously not too concerned on whether I should get 360 or PS3, unless there is some benefit that one retains where the other doesn't, I'd like to hear opinions on the Wii version compared to the two. Please, help.

Go with Xbox or PS3, simply looks better... Wii version is cheaper of course. I beat the game last night, the final boss battle is pretty intense! The Final Climb is pretty tough too (i had to look up some videos to figure out the pattern of "water wall" jumps). I still prefer the earlier PoP (the one with Elika) though, simply because it's more visually appealing. But i do like the fighting aspect of PoP:TFS, it's quite fun, not clunky as PoP.

For the Wii, i only get the first party games. If there's a choice (like PoP:TFS) i usually go with PS3. I use to get the games for Xbox over PS3, but then realized that PS3 has free on-line plays (if i choose to play, doesn't apply to PoP:TFS) and the price of used PS3 games retain higher value (due to demand and scratch prone Blu-ray discs). So basically I buy the PS3 games and sell them after platinum-ing them. If i do the same with Xbox games, i get less money back (believe it or not, there are more achievement hunters than trophies collectors, so that means more used copies of the Xbox games on the market, hence you get less money). Also, the PS3 game cases are the same size as BDs, so they line up nicely in my collection (smaller than DVDs too, hence you can sort of squeeze another layer if you have one of those adjustable shelves).

Ha, that's interesting, i didn't know. I would have gotten the Wii version then :) Nah, no achievements/trophies and the original PoP is just a nostalgic thing, i doubt i have the patience to play that tortuously torturing game.

I have the Sands of Time trilogy, so I have a port of the original Prince, so PS3 might be the best call, but I'll wait for it to hit $20 unless I just decide to bust on the Wii.

Right now the PS3 and Xbox version are $29.99 each. You can definitely get it under $20 used or wait a bit. I recommend get the game from Best Buy (it's also selling $30 this week), since it comes with the exclusive Wraith skin.

It will be like the PoP 2008, the price will be $15 soon (used copy should be around $8-$12). It's a great game, i'm play for the third time now (trying to get all of the sacrophagi and unlock the Got Walkthrough? trophy which will reward me the platinum!)

The Wii version is a completely different game. I remembered reading an article about it and just checked Wikipedia to make sure I was remembering correctly.

It has a completely different story and game play mechanic. It adds the IR pointer to grip on to walls and manipulate sand. It sounds like it plays like Mario Galaxy, it even rips off the co-op with having a second person able to assist the first by freezing enemies and obstacles.

It still averaged the same review scores as the other versions, but I guess if you like the series then it's just more Prince of Persia for you.

Here's a video that that displays the gameplay:

That helped A LOT. Thanks for that clarification. The person I spoke to didn't mention that at all.

Hmmm, it looks like if you're a fan of PoP, you got to have the Wii version as well. Personally, i think the PoP:TFS is a great game (PS3 or Xbox). From the sound of Mad D's description, i don't think i'm interested in the Wii version (that's just me).

Anyhow, i platinum the game last night and now time to sell it.
