I can't wait for this one as The Sands of Time is my favorite game of the past year... anyone else looking forward to it?

yeah, i am excited about it too - but all the games (and the DS) that i've bought recently will dominate my time until long after it comes out. Hopefully my cheap ass can get a deal on it by then!!

I want it! :( There's other stuff I want that I'll probably get first, though.. Ghost Recon 2.. Call of Duty.. NFSU2.. KOTOR2.. bleh. I should have it by Christmas...

..I hope. I might wait until it drops to 39.99, I'm still bitter that they raised the price.

I preordered it. I probably could have waited to get it, but that art book you get with a preorder is just too nice to pass up.

Gamestop still has it at $39.99.

I just preordered it last night, and it's processing now.

With Halo2, DOAU, and GTA SA still to be beaten, not to mention Sands of Time and a bunch of Black Friday games from EB, and it will be some time before I'm ready for it - it will likely be a Greatest/Platinum Hit by then. But I will get it - Sands of Time was last years best game; was what the last Tomb Raider should have been. BTW, does anyone know what the XBox Live compatability does on Sands of Time? You can't download content, nor can you play multiplayer - or really do anything, so what does it do?

im guessing the xbox vers is just live aware
but any known differences between the 3?
i had enjoyed the first on the cube, but am debating switching it up to maybe the xbox this time around

It just allows people to see that you're online.

Wariior Within is awesome, I've been playing it today, the moves are just as sweet and stylish as SOT and I'm really diggin the darker vibe.

I like fighting as much as the next guy, but i still hope that there is the jumping puzzles and platforming elements that were in the first game. if this is all zombie hacking and boss fights, iill be sorely dissapointed.

Let's keep the trips to the mexican juarez stores out of the conversation, please..

Yes that's precisely where I picked it up. How'd you know? But honestly the first part that I've played is very similar to the first POP, save for the much darker atmosphere. Same gameplay elements still apply.

I was reading a couple reviews and it looks like this is going to be a great sequel. The basic gameplay seems to be the same, just expanded. There new acrobatic moves and enhanced combat, including interchangeable weapons and dual weilding.

I loved the first game, and I have always enjoyed the series as it has evolved. But this one, despite the great reviews, just reeks of a game that is destined for a price drop. I don't think that the casual gamer will go to this game. Even though I loved the prequel to this game, I'll wait until the inevitable price drop. I'm thinking $30 or $20.

I'm with you on that.

i saw the xbox version of this out at toys r us last weekend, didnt think anything about it cause i dont have an xbox... but yeah they had 3 copies out (huntsville alabama)

Just picked up SOT but after playing 10 mins of it, I KNOW I will be picking up part 2. Just looking at the videos makes me drool...
I haven't even played the first one...
What are you waiting for? I was completely surprised by how great it was... I've actually played through it 3 times now - and I rarely go back and play a game once I beat it...

I loved the first one, and look forward to picking the new one as well...ubisoft website I think still has it for $39.99, and if you register on their website you get a $10 gift certificate every couple months, similiar to what ea does

Better late than never. :)

Seriously, though. The first Prince of Persia was awe-inspiring. Its one of the few games that I've actually took the time to complete.

I'll definitely be getting the sequel... Eventually.

The first was well-directed, had an interesting pace, and great puzzles... but the combat was a bore... I hope the sequel has more interesting fights, and better puzzles.

I know how good everyone says it is, and I will (eventually) pick it up. However, I just don't see the need for another "great" game just yet. (Looks around the room at all the other "great" sealed games)

No question I'll get it, but with the pile of great games I have still waiting to be played, I have no problem waiting for the price to drop. As great as the first game was, I don't think it sold anywhere near enough to ever become a GH, and that may end up being the case with this one, too.

Sands of Time was probably my favorite game that I played this past year, so I'm expecting big things from this one.

I loved the first PoP. I actually thought the combat in the first PoP was ok but I would have liked the game even more with no combat at all. Just the prince against the traps of the castle would have been fine for me. The puzzles were so well done that I kept rushing through the fights just to make it to the next puzzle area.

Having played the demo from the 2004 holiday demo disk, I have to say that I'm actually dissapointed with the direction that PoP2 seems to be going. The "darker" theme seems to be more concerned with battles than with puzzles. I could care less about wielding dual weapons (is this the new "innovation" of 2004?), I just want a good story and more awesome puzzles.

I may be reading too much into the limited play of the demo, but if this is the direction they're taking this game, I'm not interested.

I'm worried about this myself. If PoP had no monsters and it was only a series of obstacles and traps it still would have been one of the best games of the year. The platforming was what made it so much fun...

yeah, ill definatly be getting it sometime as well, likely after christmas though, still busy with hl2 and mp2, oh, and all my papers and finals...

I will pick this up when I can get it for $15. That's what I paid for PoP. I see no rush to buy games at $50. I have 18 sealed games and about 20 games that are opened but no time to play them out yet. Too many games too little time.

This is the great thing about the oversaturation of the gaming market. More good games than time and they reduce in price very fast these days.
I just picked up Sands of Time. I hope it's good. ;)
Man, that game rocks. I can't wait for the new one. Though I agree with everyone else, there is so much out there right now. I got so many games that I just started and put down.

im still trying to get the first one..im hoping the price will drop to like 20 bucks after the 2nd one comes out...i still don't want to buy the first one for 30 bucks...NO WAY!!..i wouldn't be a TRUE cheap ass gamer then would I...

I agree. The combat could get somewhat tedious and repetitive at times, but not enough so that it grinded on my nerves. The puzzles was what made the game so great, though I wouldn't go so far as to say that I would have preferred the game without any combat.

It would be great if the sequel delivers on its promise of better battles, but I hope it will still keep the same magic that the first puzzles offered.

the number of copies sold has nothing to do with becoming a GH / PH ...... its just a sales gimmick

Huh, 30? Where are you shopping? It's been 20 for a few months. I think a few places had it down to 10 even. Your best bet is to get it at Best Buy for 15 with the GGC.
