Problems installing Orange Box?

Does anyone else have troubles installing Orange Box? The first time, it installed Steam correctly, but everything else takes forever. I'm at the installing from disc screen, and the estimation till finish keeps increasing - it's at 23 days and counting now.

I can't open anything from my quick launch bar while it's installing either...

sounds like your hard drive is spinning down and is on its way out. I bet if you had another HD to install to it would work fine.

It's a brand-new raptor, it's also my boot drive - no problems there.

hmmm....disk is scratched? can you install something off another disk to make sure your dvd drive is working properly?

Sounds like your updating from the internet and not from the DVD.

Dvd drive messing up? Start over and see if it has trouble reading the disc.
