I know Forza is hot right now , but I can't wait for this . Here's a pic with the box art .

This is one game I'll pick up on launch day , for sure .

***For car pack info see post #24 & up***

Interesting, it's the first time I've seen Xbox 360 art covers. Do you know what color the Xbox 360 games cases will be?...

I'm thinking that they'll probably use a silvery-type case like they do for the platinum hits. It'd make sense to consumers because it matches the color of the system and it would also establish a little bit of continuity between the Xbox and the 360.

I can't wait. My only gripe with PGR2 was the frame rate, outside of that I thought it was the best racer ever. Hopefully PGR3 is even better.

I heard Forza is the best racer currently, but I don't own that so I can't vouch for it, but without Forza I gave PGR2 the crown.

I can see myself playing this everyday when I get my 360...

Yeah, I guess platinum/silver DVD game cases do make sense...

PGR 3 will almost certainly be the first 360 game I get, no matter if I get the system at launch or some time later. I love PGR 1&2, and I can't wait for the next one.

A very cool idea would be to package 360 games in the silver metal cases like Halo 2: LE and Doom3:CE came in. They're attractive, sturdy, and would match the look of the 360. Would probably increase costs a little though...

Yeah....I don't want increase costs for metal cases....just give me a case and a game. Stick with green for all I care....because you know they will have some sort of greatest hits again anyways.

I hope there isn't a new version of the "Platinum Hits" for Xbox 360 games!...:bomb:

After my brief time with Forza, I still enjoy PGR2 *slightly* more then I did with Forza when PGR2 first came out, but now Forza is holding my attention.

The only thing PGR3 needs (outside of graphic and control enhancements, more cars and more tracks) is CUSTOMIZATION! Forza allows you to paint your cars and add logos and what not, and even tweak the controls of some cars. Now I can understand why they wouldn't allow you to tweak the controls of the PGR3 cars, because it would make things alittle uneven, but PGR3 really needs to allow me to have whatever color I want for my car, and add a CAG logo to them.

There was one thing I was dissapointed with the announcement of PGR3, and that was they were apparently getting rid of the classes, allowing everyone to use any car they want. I feel the classes were better to seperate the dominate cars from eachother, but whatever.

I'm not anticipating it much. I know I'll end up with it, but it's not much new about it. For this to be the 4th game in the series, they really haven't added anything new.
side note 1: PGR 1 = MSR on dreamcast
Side note 2: The cockpit view was in PGR 2, all the data on the disk kist not accessable.

I loved 1 (and MSR before it), but they totally fucked up the handling in 2. It just didn't feel "right" anymore.

Hopefully 3 will play like PGR is supposed to play.

Either way it will probably be one of the first games I pick up, whenever I get around to buying a 360.

PGR 3 Demo now available in the Xbox Live Marketplace !

The Xbox Live Marketplace shifted into high gear yesterday with the release of a downloadable demo for Bizarre Creations' Project Gotham Racing 3.

Weighing in at a beefy 1.25GB, the free trial version of the highly rated driving sim gives gamers a taste of speed in two events (a street race and a time trial) that wind through the streets of Tokyo. The demo also gives players the luxury of getting behind the wheels of six cars, including a Ferrari F430, Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, and a Lamborghini Murcielago 6.2. The demo version features no playability over Xbox Live or access to race replays.

FYI, auto update released for the game:

Tournaments – Be one of 64 players to qualify with the best lap time using a car and route that’s predetermined. If successful, move on into the Elimination rounds to compete with 7 other drivers. The top 4 in each race move on until the final race where only the first place driver earns the victory.

Tournament Channel (Gotham TV)– Watch other players race in tournament Elimination rounds.

“Quit to Lobby” (Abandon option in PlayTime race) Host can now take all participants back to the lobby in a play time session, rather than booting them all back to the Play Time menu.

“Lock to Host Car” and “Lock to Host Car Class” (PlayTime | Xbox Live | Create Race | Race Mode | City | Route) are two new toggles that the lobby creator can turn on or off to limit what type of cars his/her competition can use in a play time race over Xbox Live.

Previously Played Routes List (PlayTime | Route Creator | Previous Live Routes) – Play other gamers routes that they created in the Route Creator over Xbox Live and store up to 10 in your “Previously Played Routes List”. You have the option to save or discard them and use them in your own sessions.

All Cars Position Toggle (More | Options | HUD | Position toggle) – In races modes with multiple cars where target is not displayed, this shows the current place every car in the race is in throughout the event.

Hide HUD Toggle (More | Options | HUD | HUD toggle) – This gives the player the option to turn off ALL in race HUD displays in all camera views.

Voice Communicator Identifier – In a multiplayer race the name of the gamertag will now flash in the upper left hand corner when speaking into a voice communicator, making it possible to identify the speaker.

Online Career rotating car class hoppers – All 8 hoppers in the Online Career (Breakneck Racing, Nurburgring F1 Challenge, Speedway Skirmish, Knockout World Tour, Nordschleife Drivers Club, Urban Rally, Gotham Duelling, and Dusk Til Dawn Racing) now change the required entry car class daily.

Wheel Support – Control set for steering wheels and dynamic updates have been added for the Hori, Mad Catz, and Joytech Nitro wheels (all via the More | Options | Controller | Wheel A configuration).

Online Qualifier Achievement – 50 gamerscore is now awarded for qualifying, then attempting the first elimination round of a tournament.

PLUS: The HUD no longer remains invisible after looking back, hitting the Guide button, and then re-entering the game and it’s now possible to view if you have already purchased a car while shopping in the showroom via the “Cars Owned” tally under the Car Stats section.
