[PROS & CONS] white ps3

Hi,

I would like to know the pros and cons of buying a white ps3 from japan since there aren't any here ( usa )

Pro: it looks friggin sweet

Con: Cost more to import, japanese version is censored, will be coming out in america soon
 
The white 40GB PS3 will be coming out in the US sometime this year. Unless you really want the white one right now, there's almost no reason to get a Japanese one unless you want to play Japanese PS1 games on it.
 
If you have a Wii and a 360 that are white, I guess I could see why you would want it, but I think the black one looks better.
 
The Japanese system will only play Region 2 (Japanese & European) standard DVDs, though it plays American and Japanese Blu-Ray.

If I was going to import a 40 GB model, I would get silver since that hasn't been announced for America yet. But like they said, you should probably wait for a US release of the white model.
 
Someone said this above, but just so you know, some Japanese PS3 Games are CENSORED (no blood/cursing), and I believe US uncensored games on a Japanese console are also censored...

That's a good point that doesn't receive much publicity. Uncharted has this issue, and I guess Ratchet gets some weird eyebrows?
