Prototype (X360) $14.99 newegg.com

Platinum Hits. Usually at Newegg its a guess on what you will get. This time its in the title of the product, the description and the picture. Hope this is the start of a trend at the egg.

Spoken like a guy who's never even played it. There are no similarities between this and inFamous besides the fact that both main characters have superpowers and you run around a city sandbox style. Everything else is completely different. Both have good things about them, both have their flaws.

Fact is this game is actually pretty good if you give it a chance. Fanboy criticism does not equal fact.

The gameplay is not the same as infamous in fact it completely different.

I think that's what you meant to say.
If the game ended at the 2/3 mark, I'd have loved it. Got so frustrating towards the end.
Yup i loved it till the end...
The Air kills you... the Airforce kills you.. The Tanks shoot you... the people shoot you... everything everywhere is killing you..

I bought this new last year from Gamestop for $20, played for about an hour and then promptly returned it. For once I was thankful they sold me one of those open-box "new" copies. It was glitchy as hell and literally looked like a PS2 game. Hopefully the 2nd game is better, cause it did have potential.

For those hating this game for its difficulty or whatever, I completely understand where you're getting at, the game does get frustrating at some points, but if you stick to it and use smart tactics against certain enemies you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Also, the "easy" difficulty setting is there for a reason. The only achievement you'll get from difficulty alone is if you beat it on hard (which you have to unlock in the first place) so just play it on easy.

Leveling up and unlocking new abilities is a must in this game. You need to use your skills wisely against the right enemies. I personally loved this game because it gets so hectic. Everything is trying to kill you, the military, the infected, etc etc and you're a badass killing machine. This game really makes you feel powerful beyond measure, and it's gory as hell which I loved.

And to the guy that commented on its "PS2 graphics", really guy? The game looks pretty damn good for all the random action going on screen at the same time. Frame rate is very smooth and I think it looks just fine. Overall the gameplay more than makes up for graphics and if that's your reason for holding out on a game, I feel pretty sorry for you.

Prototype 2 looks like it improved the graphics though for anyone wondering. New engine and all.. I bought Prototype brand new when it first came out at 60$ and I still play it occasionally for fun. It's a great game to just mess around in after you beat it. Definitely worth 15$ for those that are at all interested. For those that came in here to bash the game, there's no need for that. If you don't like the game you're welcome to your opinion, why try to put off other people from playing it?

It's not much like inFamous, but I agree, it is complete trash. Played for 3 hours and couldn't stand it.

It wasn't my intention put off others from playing it. I'm just giving my honest opinion. It's the only game in recent memory that I almost instantly regretted purchasing after playing for the first time. Judging by some of the other responses here, I wasn't the only one disappointed with the game. To each their own. I suppose if you're interested in the game, $15 isn't much of a gamble to find out for yourself.
