A $199 price would probably help them a lot. Would look pretty good sitting at the same price as an XL.
There's no probably about it, there's 3 moves that would work in tandem that would jumpstart the vita across the board.
1- PS3 & PSVita price cuts to $200 at E3
2- $450-$500 500GB PS3/PSVita bundle pack w/6 games(3 PS3, 3 vita) + 6 months PS+ preferably not titles already found in other bundles like GOW saga, UC coll, LBP & so on. Just a fresher mix along with a new titles from each system. Say they did a AC legacy bundle with all the HD AC's 1-4 & both vita titles.
3- Announce 10 killer AAA games, at least 5 would need to release between Sept - Dec with the others hitting 1st qrt 2014
Gran Turismo
Grand Theft Auto
Metal Gear Solid
Kindom Hearts
Monster Hunter
God of War
Final Fantasy
Star Wars Battlefront
COD(no brainer)
AC(already leaked)
All of these should be bundled with the vita & the bolded should have LE versions.
(conservative estimates)
GTA will sell 3 - 4 million
KH will sell 2.5 - 3.5 million
MGS will sell 3 - 4 million
Monster Hunter will sell 3 - 4 million
God of War will sell 3 -4 million
GT will sell 3 - 4 million
FF will sell 1.75 - 2.5 million
SW battlefront will sell 1.5 - 2.5 million
COD will sell 2 -2.75 million
AC will sell 1.5 - 2 million
Add KH, MGS Acid, GTA, Star Wars & FF $40 HD PSP remakes for PS3/PS4/PSV to bolster the lineup.
All of these can support a vita exclusive & cross buy which when combined with the other titles from PS4 would give Sony a huge advantage vs MS & Nintendo.
I'd love to see a PS4/PSvita bundle but that would definitely cost like $600 although it would be a killer 2014 or 2015 E3 surprise at $450-$500.
