Thanks for its own post, i am still waiting to here more information on the actual gameplay and RPG elements. The whole cloud and lair idea is great but if this game has no depth i will probably skip it.

If the main campaign is 15-20 hours long, plus the lairs online, I'll be happy. I won't be buying the PS3 version unless it's a bundle for both of them. I'd pay *maybe* $60 total? It doesn't seem like a full-fledged AAA game, and if it was just the PS3 version I'd expect a $40 price-tag. SO $60 for both of them seems fair.

As far as it's own thread, I'd like to see people start creating separate threads (with similarly formatted titles like this one perhaps) since we're only a few months away from the release of the PSV.

It will be bundled together, see this article below.

I just want to story to be there, looking for a Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance type game.

EDIT: I hope the Vita is a January 2012 release but i am betting a February or March 2012 release.

Hey giant!

No new info on this one at TGS. Granted its a western developer but was hoping for something.

Ruin’s developers are quietly building a wide, deep social network designed to keep you interacting whether you’re on the couch, on the bus, or someplace in-between. Travis Williams, Ruin’s energetic senior producer, walked me through the game’s social ambitions several weeks ago at a media showing in New York City. From the earliest days of Ruin’s development process, Williams told me, the development team was motivated to find a way to make its multiplayer competitive mode accessible and socially sticky — important considerations given PS Vita’s always-on wireless connectivity and the game’s Vita-to-PS3 cross-platform support. “We were obsessing over find a better way to do PvP (Player vs Player), a better mechanism for getting items that you wanted from other players,” Williams said.

Enter the Lair. The Lair is your inner sanctum, your pride and joy, your seat of power. ”It’s an extension of you. It’s an outwardly facing construct that other players interact with,” Williams explained. “You’ll spend as much time equipping your Lair as you will your character.” The significance of your Lair is twofold: it adds to your offense when you’re playing, and it acts as your defense when you’re not. “If you and I were rivals, you wouldn’t attack me,” Williams said with a mischievous grin. “You’d attack my Lair.”

Your Lair is deeply customizable, enabling you to tweak everything from its physical layout and visual style to the types of monsters and bosses that protect it while you’re off conquering the world. As you earn enchanted relics, you’ll be able to place them in your Lair to grant synergistic bonuses that enhance your character’s defensive and offensive options. You’ll be able to swap these items in and out of your Lair’s sockets at will, and where you place them in your Lair can radically change their effects. “There’s a relic called the Poison Ivy Trophy, and you could place it in your Armory and any weapon you use will drip poison,” Williams elaborated. “Or you can put it in your Beastiary to enhance your Lair’s monsters with poison damage.”

As you encounter other players over PSN, your Lair also becomes a vehicle for advertising your social status. Case in point: If you meet another player who is adorned with spiked armor, it’s a visual clue that his Lair is equipped with a powerful relic called Heart of Titan. “If you want to take that item from him, you can challenge him,” Williams explained. “You can bet on his Heart of Titan with another valuable item. If he agrees, the game will put both items into escrow while you beat the hell out of each other’s Lairs over the next 24 hours.” And, 24 real-world hours later, the player with the highest aggregate score will claim both items – and bragging rights. “The best part,” Williams said, “is that the competition and stakes were mutually agreed upon.”

This will for sure not be a normal RPG, sounds there won't be much a story at all beyond the "social" and multiplayer action.

I think the social aspect of Warrior's Lair will give it a very extended playing lifespan. After watching a YouTube video on it, it's sounding more and more like a must-have title...for me, at least

I'm all over this like white on rice! This looks pretty sweet and being able to take my home game on the road is exactly what I want a Vita to do.

Anyone have any word on if this is gonna be a disc/card based game or a PSN download?

From what I've heard, ALL Vita titles will be available as PSN downloads. No idea what it'll be on the PS3, but I suspect PSN download is more likely than them pushing out another shelf release for it.

With Diablo III being delayed with no release date in sight, Sony has some more breathing room to develop this. But they'd still better hurry -- this genre seems to be getting crowded quickly.

Can anyone let me know that if I purchase the Ps3 Version, can I play the game on my Vita? U know, just like Portal 2 did on Ps3 and PC.

No word on that yet, and I don't really expect any until there's a release announcement.

I'm hoping that they follow the example of Evolution Studio's Motorstorm RC... they've announced that if you buy it, you get both the PS3 and Vita versions. I expect anyone releasing on both platforms and NOT doing that will get a ton of flack from potential customers. I really want Warrior's Lair, but I don't want to pay for it twice unless it's REALLY cheap.

Minor update... I wouldn't place any bets based on this, but it's looks like they're leaning in the right direction:

"Warrior’s Lair is a game built for both the VITA and the PS3. It’s not a port of a PS3 game to the VITA and it’s not a port of the VITA to the PS3. It is the same game on both platforms—a single experience you can soak up on your big screen TV or take with you on the go. Buy Warrior’s Lair and you own it on both platforms."

That's a quote from Chris Floyd, lead gamer designer at Idol Minds. I've found a couple other references on various sites indicating the same thing. Hopefully they'll stick to it and we'll get one combined package. I'm still really looking forward to this one!
