PS1 Gameshark inquiry

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, so if not, my bad.

I have a Gameshark for the PS1 and the correct version of the system that it will work with. What I need to know is if there is a way to hook the Gameshark up to my PC to load new codes onto it. I may be off-base in how it even works, because there isn't a lot of info available online. However, if it CAN interface with the PC, what kind of cable would I need to purchase?
