While it's not in stock at the moment (and probably never will be), you may be lucky and have a few copies at your local CC. The web prices are always the same as in-store (in my experiences). There were none in my area (so the web says).
important question for those that snagged a copy: Did CC online say that your store had any?
its not letting me check if they have them in store online.

For me, ALL of their games are "not available for in-store pick up" It doesn't matter if they have it on the shelf or not, they don't give you that information.

Nope. It said: " not available for in-store pick up". I always go and check anyway. Can't trust anyone these days ;)

Videogames have never, ever been available for store pickup when I've tried to order them. Or at least, the games I've tried to buy.

damnit, that means that i must check NOW! though i dont feel like it  i was in there yesterday and if i go in there twice in a row, the employees stare at me like i just walked out of a room where i had the main role in some good ol fashioned bukkake...and i haven't yet had time to wash up
Eh heh, that's a good question...The easiest and first course of action would be to bring the game up to the customer service desk and point out that the price online is $.01...They should be able to adjust it for you.

The second thing you could do is explain to a cashier that if they scan the barcode on the box rather than the one on the plastic it would ring up for $.01.

If all else fails, you can be "sneaky-sneaky" and gently remove the UPC sticker from the plastic and check-out as usual. As for how ethical it is, all I can say is that I've had employees willingly tear off UPCs just to scan the one on the box for me.

I can also post a high-res pic of my receipt if needed.
Personally I think it's like stealing if you remove the UPC yourself. It's like switching upc's with another product.

Ugamer_X I like your order of doing things, just don't agree with the "sneaky-sneaky" part. I will take advantage of every game deal, sale, price mistake or price match I can find, but I won't steal. It would be way to emarrasing to get kicked out of CC for peeling a sticker off a .01 or $15 game. :)

:) Next time wear something like this and they'll treat you like an average American

With me it's a different story. Everytime I walk in, they ask: "What's on sale today?" =)

I know how that is, Masha. The CC reps who work in the video games area at the CC closest to my apartment know me by now, and wonder what I'm for. :D And usually with more knowledge than they have. Plus, it's always fun to tell them of my CAG-related savings (without bringing up CAG, of course ;)) and watch their jaws hit the floor.

my Circuit City had none, I spent about half an hour checking the PS2 and the Bargain Shelf for it. They did, however, have 2 for the Xbox, but priced at the usual $19.99. Also if you are doing the current trade 3 elgible for 1 PSP game deal at EB, it might be smart to pick up a copy of PowerDrome ($4.96 for Xbox or PS2 version; I think it isn't exclusion list.. yet.), and a Jampack Disk (mine had several copies of volume 11 for $4.99, but most EBs won't take it because they are lamers). too bad you can't match the Best Buy $5 off any PS2 or PSP game for this deal, or many games would be free.

i cant believe people at your cc even talk to you. i dont think ive ever been asked if i needed help at any of the ones ive gone to. i think it is however a buffalo thing, since people are all pissed that the buildings are rusty and all they do is eat chicken fingers and fried cheese. can i come live with you?

Yeah, half the time I'm telling them what's on sale, plus what is on sale elsewhere. :D The people that run the game department are gamers, so they end up being kindred in some ways. Actually, a good bunch there and most of the other CC's in the area. Could be a lot worse.

BB's, that's another story. :D

does that mean i can come live with you or what man? i find myself doing the same things at other stores, but i always try to keep CAG on the hush so that its goodness is disrupted as a result of my good fortune. its good to help people out, give them a list, etc. i think thats why no one asks if they can help there: they arent really in to what they do. lucky there are some gamers thurrrr.

i didnt find any copies at the one i looked at, in amherst, but i didnt want to drive to the other two, which are rather far. fine by me, since i wouldnt have been able to play it much except for at my girls. i just wanted to pay a penny for a game. i found some ps2 game at target for what turned out to be 78 cents and that was my low(with some two dollar off a game or movie coupon i stumbled across). only trying to beat that.
Thanks OP

I picked up a copy today but it came up $1.99 instead of a penny might have gone up at all CC B&M
thanks for the info....i noticed that on CC.com this morning and didn't even think about editting this thread...i thought this thread was dead by now....good to see that people are still finding this....its still a steal at $1.99
