PS2 Component HD Cables?

Not sure of a good deal but it will look better. The PS2 is only capable of outputting 480p so it's not actually HD. It would have to be 720p for that (which some Xbox games can do). Still better than 480i, though, which is all you'll get with composite or s-video.
You can find these cables on Amazon or eBay for less than $10 shipped. Just go for the cheapest set you can find, brand doesn't make any difference as to picture quality. (It could possibly make a difference in terms of durability, but really, if the cables stop working in a few months/years, having to buy another set for $7 or whatever isn't going to hurt too bad.)
Component cables will definitely help if you're going to play PS2 games on an HDTV. You'll be able to use progressive scan for games that support it, and even the 480i games will look brighter and less smeary. They still won't look amazing, but it's a lot better than the alternative.

I checked a couple of sites and you're right. They say that GT4 does output in 1080i. According to HDTV Arcade GT4 and Tourist Trophy are the only games that do 1080i. I didn't think the PS2 was capable of outputting higher than 480p. The majority of PS2 games don't even run in 480p anyway.

PS3 component cables are fully compatible with PS2. I bought the official Sony PS3 Components when they first came out since they looked awesome (silver tabs instead of ugly colored rubber) and it was actually cheaper than the PS2-branded ones ($20 vs $30 at CC) when I upgraded to an HDTV w/PS2.

The monoprice ones seem good, but read the reviews. As I've heard in the past, the Sony brand ones are possibly the best to get. Component cables aren't a simple on/off digital connection like HDMI (never buy name-brand HDMI!). Brand actually matters slightly here. It might actually be worth the $20 to get the best in this case.

Are these good cables? I really want some for my PS2 and I wanna jump on these cause they're also usable for the Wii. All the "proper" reviews seem good, with most of the negatives being from people who don't know how the hell to set stuff up.
