I was just at Target today checking the cleareance section when I saw something interesting. Target was going to offer a free strategy guide with purchase of the HDD. HOwever, for some reason the Guide is not going to be in this week. So, they are just going to knock $15 dollars of the price. $85 for the HDD w/ FF 11. Good deal if you were planning to pick one up. THis was in St. Louis, at the Target on Manchester.

hey reg, i actually live fairly close to that target, didnt think there were any other CAG's near me, cya around

repetske, I think most people who post on this site are on the east coast. I've actually only found 2 other people in St. Louis. And there are tons of things to do here, playing games being one.

I'm pretty sure the deal is company-wide.

I saw the same deal at the Danvers, MA store last night. Looks like you might be right about it being company-wide. I wasn't planning to buy it until the price came down a bit, but this might be all of the incentive that I needed.

Ok now that we know all tagets have the sign anyone been able to buy one at target? my target claims they will get them on tursday or firday. But best buys has had them on sale as of yesterday.

One more update local target said they would give me a raincheck but it will be for 99.99 plus free guide that they will get on tuesday next week. So there will be no rain check price of 84.99.

popps store on sepulveda in los angeles said they where sold out today. Offered me a raincheck for 99.99 with free guide cause they will not have any more hd till next week when the guide will be instock too.

i work in the electronics dept. of target in santa rosa, ca (bay area) and i sold two today for 84.99 each. i had no idea why it was coming up for that amount, and neither did the manager on-duty. but i guess now i do. kind of sucks that i get this information on the CAG forum instead of from my superiors. thank heaven for you guys.

Masterkyo: Even if one gets BB to allow keeping the $10 GC and matching an unadvertised price, isn't the 10% the same as at CC, i.e. 10% off the difference in price ($1.50 off) rather than 10% off the sale price?

Yeah, BB would give you 10% of the difference.
$84.99 - $1.50 - $10 = $76.49 plus tax.

I got a pretty good deal on it myself ($80 at gamestop thru a friend) but this is a little better, as long as they still give you the GC.

when you buy it at best buy, the reciept lists the price of the ffxi bundle as 89.99 and then a seperate listing for the gc at $10. They do this in case you want to return an item that comes with any giftcard so they dont just give out free giftcards. If anything, your only going to get to pricematch 89.99 at bestbuy against the 84.99 at target.

What $10 gift card?
I used the $5 Gift card and got mine for $78
plus I thought the 10% was off the difference not the total.
