I don't know how many people agree with me... but I don't think I'd trade my ps2 for anything, except maybe a ps3 (just because it can play all my ps2 games ;-p)

There are just so many downright amazing games on this system with graphics that aren't that much worse than the "next gen" 360 and equivalent to Wii.

Give your love to your ps2; I think mine deserves a spot next to my pillow tonight.
 
Why is this necessary? Yaeh we all know the PS2 is great and the GCN and the Wii and the 360 and the DS and the PSP (if any good games would actually come out for it), etc., but this is a great GameFAQs post as well.

I was just messing around. All I've heard from here about is that it's pretty much the reason why you should need a license to use the internet or a computer lol

Oh sorry. Being a bit snappy tonight I guess. Let's just say that on the average board on GameFAQs it just pure chaos and fanboyism (guess that's the right way to put it as). There are some boards like for the older game titles where it's actually decent members and a decent community going on, but for bigger name games like Halo, Final Fantasy, Mario, etc. it's well, the internet.

Mainly though, I was trying to make the point that I'd rather have a ps2 than any next gen console right now.

And yeah, GameFAQs forums are complete insanity.

its too late to recover, we all know youre here because you were banned from there due to your idiocy.
 
I think I posted there 5 times total in the Tecmo Super Bowl forum (NES)... mainly just letting FAQers know about the large TSB community at a different site. Probably a bad idea though, as I felt I was being collectively internet raped by every poster.
 
The PS2 is nice and all, but now that God of War 2 is out, I think it's all downhill for the system, software wise. Look for lots of kids' movie licensed stuff and driving games.

I agree, but it's funny that IMO had they not released the PS3 that they could have still supported the system for at least a good couple of years more with actual A solid titles. I'm still astonished by seeing people coming into BBs and Walmart buying the system all the time.

Well, there's Raiden 3, Atelier Iris 3, Persona 3, Metal Slug Anthology, Dawn of Mana, Odin Sphere and Title A.
 
yeah i wont lie i hate when people do the this >that posts shit but hes telling it like it is. the ps2 is one of the few systems that will be timeless for a while. theres so many great games to play on it many of which most of us who have had the system for a while are still getting and playing. its probably another big reason why the ps3 isnt selling as well aside from the price of the damn thing because theres tons of games for it and its a cheap system thats getting cheaper.


id be willing to be the ps2's games price drop and clearances and the systems price drop and clearances have affected sales for all next gen systems in some form or fashion because why spend 400 and more on those system that have limited games when you can buy a used ps2 for dirt cheapr or a new one for a bit more and get to experience all those games. it'll end up like the nes in the end where you hook it up every now and then just to play the games.
 
No one can question the PS2's dominence in sales.

I just didn't find any of their exclusive offerings to be all that compelling, with most of Nintendo's and Microsoft's exclusives last gen to be much more fun. I'm not a fan of RPGs, so that would go a long way to explaining my rift with a lot of people here, I'm sure.

That being said, Shadow of the Colossus was awesome, and Guitar Hero might be a reason to buy a PS2 on its own.
 
I just wish Sony would manufacture the original consoles, I prefer its design and the HDD support, but I'm worried about my current console dying in 5-10 years.
