The silver controllers were $5 at Kmart. They should still be or they might even be cheaper if you can find them.
But if you have a Target nearby they're clearancing out the controllers for $10 or so each right now. Of course, this depends on whether or not your Target stores drop items to 50% off or higher.
As for the memory cards, Sears clearanced the normal ones a while ago as well.
