ps2 missing cords? what to buy?

for over 5 years or so i had a tv that only accepted the rabbit ear antenna, this tv was in my bedroom, and we have a real tv in the living room with the 360 and stuff.

well just about a week ago, i bought a new used tv that actually has plug ins and stuff that can accept the ps2 and stuff, well i went looking for my old ps2 and all i found was the ps2 and no cables.

what i was wondering is what cables do i need to buy to connect the ps2 to the tv and stuff. i just hope the ps2 still works, its the fat ps2 kind. i just dont want to spend to much money on a new ps2 slim or whatever, and if the ps2 doesnt work, ill just toss it i guess.
 
if 130 dollars is too much money for you to get a new ps2 than may I suggest you a new hobby ? ^__^

He didn't say it was too much money, he said he wanted to try it on the cheap. There's not thing wrong with that. What hobby would you suggest, as you wanted to suggest him a new one?


I would go to gamestop and pick up a power cord (about $3) and composite cable (somewhere under $10). That way, if you try it and it doesn't work, you can return it within a week.

That is such a stupid post.
He obviously doesn't want his ps2 so much that he will drop another 130 bucks on it.
This site is CHEAPassgamer. He could buy 6 games for $130.
 
Gamestop, Radio Shack, and probably even Wal-Mart should be able to get you what you need fairly cheaply.

Had you bought an RF switch, you could have used your PS2 with the old TV.
 
Buy them used at GS so that if the PS2 doesn't work, you can return them. Or borrow a friend's and test it first.

Also, if it doesn't work, don't toss it. Some could be used for parts, and sold for 20 or 30, and if completely unusable but still has the serial number, GS will buy it for like 10 bucks.

Not everyone WANTS to pay for a new PS2. I myself have really no need currently for the PS2 I have(sealed slim model), but I'll keep it just the same since the TIV is crap on them.

Anyway, thisjustanother, do like others have said and go buy the cords you need used from Gamestop due to their 7 day return policy. But just make sure you test the PS2 within those 7 days.

Oh and if the PS2 refuses to read discs, but works otherwise, let me know since it could just be that the laser is dirty and needs cleaning and that's a simple process.
