Is this in store also, because you can use the 20% off coupon from this past weekend and get it for 30% off with your edge card.
the multitap is nothing special, i bought one new for $9
A Sony one? Where?
From the EB site:
Adaptor may not include the set-up disk.

What happens when you buy one used that doesn't have the setup disk?
As far as I know, every PS2 online game has the necessary goods to create the setup files on your memory card.

Someone please correct me if I am mistaken. Thanks.

You have to settle for using it with your HD Loader or HD Advance software. :D

FWIW, I ordered two of these from EB's site a couple of weeks ago, and both came with the setup disc. If yours doesn't, I'm sure you'll be able to exchange it at your local EB.

A worthwhile idea. I figured for $16-something after tax (no Edge card for me), it's worth taking a chance on it.

Nice price. I think i will pick it up... i missed out when KB was selling these for around $15 last year (at their website).

The HDD for PS2 requires the network adapter for some reason (or so I'm told). Is that right?

I picked up the FFXI package at CC ($37.99) but it's been sitting and collecting dust since I can't use it... i want to start tranfering my saves on to the HDD.

Yes, it does require the network adapter to be used.

My God that was a good deal. Paid $90 for mine late last year.

The NA powers the unit, so it's slightly important. :D
I been looking for a network adapter for cheap for awhile. Is this deal also good at in-store?
Yes. Kinda. The network adapters are $17.99 in-store. Then you can use your Edge card. But to get the extra 15% off (CAG15), you'll have to order online.

The problem with buying online is you can't inspect the adapter... EB may send you one that's all jacked up and sticky... although the CAG in me, will probably force my to buy online just to ge the extra 15% off (CAG15)!

Guys, thanks for confirming that you need the network adapter to use the hard drive... why did Sony put all these restrictions to use the HD? No wonder why hardly any publishers support the HD.

Well having to use the NA with a HD is not a restriction, it's a requirement. Its the way the thing was designed. The NA has the power adapter and the IDE connector on it for the HD to plug into. Without the NA, you would have no way to connect a HD at all.

I'm going to place an order online tommorow... I need it in order to do the beta testing for the 25 to Life game. The kit should be arriving to me in a couple weeks.

Mine arrived on Friday. The adapter was OK, though how they packaged it together in the little plastic back, they bent the setup CD.

So, I had a perfectly fine network adapter and a destroyed setup CD. Well, maybe not a perfectly fine one, since the box looks like it was used for football practice.

I erred on the side of caution and asked EB to send out a return label for it, and send it back. Hopefully, the next one will be better handled by FedEx.
