i need your honest opinions, i surfaced an ebay auction that has a ps2 slim for $95 buy it now, and was wondering if its a good deal because it isnt new but looks to be in awesome condition and with a game and all..but new it is $130...what should i do?

here is the auction

Its $107 shipped, so your only saving $$23 versus buying a new one on Amazon. The seller seens legit.

I LoL'd at this other auctions. Rusty antique hand tools FTW! lol

If you like the game it's a pretty good deal, though not great. You aren't just getting a nice condition PS2, you're also getting two 8 MB memory cards and a game. One of the cards isn't Sony brand, though. So you're saving more than just $23, but you can probably do better. What I'd suggest is bidding on the auction instead of paying the buy-it-now price. If you can get it for $95 *shipped* then you're talking a quite good deal.

Didnt even notice the memory cards. That makes it a better deal for sure, although I would just throw that 3rd party mem card in the garbage if you win the auction, it will only break your heart.

hmm..very helpful replies here. yeah i'm going to keep this in my watch list until the end to bid, but im pretty sure everyone else is doing the same. i hope no one buys it instantly lol thanks for the quick replies

edit: but whats wrong with the 3rd party memory card? no good?

Like most 3rd party stuff it will probably work right up to the warranty limit. Having a controller crap out on you is annoying but bearable - losing a mem card with all of your saves (esp if you play RPGs) is enough to get you to pull your hair out.

hmm good point. but will i probably wont use the whole 8mb's anyway, afterall its ps2 and i probably wont buy many games for it because i have wii, ps3 and 360 lol but i have some ps2 games left over from my fat old ps2 but they are seriously outdated. thanks for pointing that out, i would only use the sony memory card!

Back when god of war 2 came out, i was able to get a ps2 slim, component cables, wireless logitech controller, sony 8mb card and 5 games, including god of war 1 for $135 shipped and all in fantastic condition from ebay
It was a great deal, and I was able to get it because I wasn't in a rush to get the system (and I also lucked out)
BIN is tempting, but use this as a benchmark, even if you don't get it. Have the idea of a system, memory card and game in good condition for $107. It's not a bad deal, but if there are other items you know you want, it will be cheaper to look for those auctions that also include it at a slightly higher price.

Where in the hell do you see the memory cards? I scanned that entire auction and I didn't see them plugged into the PStwo or on the box or anywhere. Also, remember that if the memory card is YELLOW, it may be the Nyko brand one, which was officially supported by Sony.

Either way, the 70012 was one of the FIRST models of the slim PStwo, some people had them turn into expensive doorstops just after the 90 day warranty ended, so keep that in mind.

Good luck either way.

EDIT: I see the memory cards now....kind of in a sneaky spot though. That 3rd party one is Mad Catz though I think, so yeah.....buyer beware on that.

yeah that was weird..i sent a question to him and he said he had to relist it...now itsgot a bid and no buy it now..wtf?
