VGTALK had it posted that FATWALLET had it posted that Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance is ringing up for $00.01 at CC B&M on PS2 & Xbox. YMMV. Its due to the "free w/ Psi-Ops deal." I am hoping to try this today some time. I have a friend that works at CC that will overlook this if its true. Anyone else who wants to give it a shot, let us know how it goes.

Damn. I hate being back at home from college in the middle of nowhere!!! No CC, no BB, no other BB, no FYE, no anything!!! Sadness is what deal posting causes me now, lol. But I suppose that it saves me those YMMV trips that turn up nothing.

This is going to be extremely YMMV because it's going to depend on the cashier that checks you out. If the cashier doesn't know or doesn't care that you are supposed to buy Psi-Ops to get this, then you'll be able to get it for a penny. Kind of a shady deal though.
What does B&M and YMMV mean?!
Brick and Morter AKA not an online store and Your Milage May Vary AKA you may not get the deal at your store.

You can argue this one to hell though, just like every other 1 cent deal out there. I just want to know if it's worth a 10 minute drive to CC.

Capone...first you need to read up play around. When you finish that then get your 7th post.

Okay, now that I have clarification, looks like I maybe making a trip to CC today. Can't pass up this deal even if there's only a chance that it will work. I'll be heading out there at noon.

I went to the CC in Wilmington, DE and no deal :(

They had the xbox and ps2 versions. Price checked both, and they rang up at $19.99

One caveat, they only had the PH/GH versions. It may be that the penny games are the non-platinum/greatest hits versions. I think they're considered different items at CC. Someone see if they can check that.

Oh, this would only work on the MKDA that have the "For Promotional Use Only. Not for Sale." logo on them. This wouldn't work on the actual retail versions of the game.

Just got back from CC. They had both versions of the game. The normal one and the Promotional ones. The promo ones were actually marked $.01 right on the shelf. So I grabbed one. I also grabbed Eve of Extinction because I knew it was $5 last week. I was able to buy MK without a hassle but EOE rang up $15.99. I guess I will try to return it later in the week.

Hmm... they didn't have a promotional versions on the shelves. Only PH and GH versions.

not a problem, . . . We should coordinate that kind of thing more often.
thanks for checking continental. I was going to go down there. Saves me the trip.
This state ain't big enough for the 3 of us!
whats the difference between promo and regular?
It has like a red rectangular box on the bottom front that says like promotional item not for resale, or something like that.

The original person who probably posted at those sites that MK:DA is one penny at CC probably worked there and recieved the promotional copies of the games and saw that they were one penny in their system.

Except there's one catch, and the catch is they're only to be sold along with Psi - Ops since it's part of the promotional deal.

What does the promo copy look like? It's got a red rectangular box that says "promotional copy" on it, and if they employees at CC are smart, they wouldn't be placed on the sales floor for anyone to pick up, they'd be at the counter or placed next to Psi Ops for the person picking up the game.

At Gamestop, the promo disc goes under the description "premium, Mortal Kombat DA free w/ Psi Ops" (or something like that) and has no value, it's given out to people who reserved the game. I know because i (sadly) work there.

So to all those people going out there plucking regular copies of the game off the shelf and expecting it to be a penny, it's not. You just have to be lucky that an idiot empoyee left a promo copy out on the floor, you bring it up to the cashier, and the register biscuit doesn't bother to notice it's part of a deal.

hey...im from maryland

I picked 2 up from the CC in Norfolk. They still had about 10 copies on the shelf at 6pm. It is definately the ones that say promo on the front of them, as they have a different sku. I checked out the upc code when they came into my store last week. We gave our away with the reserves. I guess circuit city doesnt know what to do with premiums. Suckers.

I picked up the last 2 copies that CC had here in Columbus, Ohio.
Funny thing though....they didn't have any copies of Psi-ops for the Xbox but they had MK:DA....just the 2 I got.

None for the PS2.

Which location in Columbus?

I had someone check out the Brice Road CC, but he didn't know about the promo versions being the only ones ringing up at a penny, so when he had them scan the price he was SOL because it was non-promo version.

It was the Brice Road location.
When I checked out the salesperson didn't say anything, just rang the games up with no problem.
It was only on the PROMO versions. Best deal I have found, a game for a penny...
