These have been on sale for at least a week now. And yes, they will work on some other active-shutter 3D TV's, so they are great as an extra pair for your non-PlayStation Display. I tried it on a Sharp Quattron and it worked fine.
I bought an extra pair to go with the PlayStation Display I picked up during the Black Friday sale, I figured $150 was worth the potential hassles. So far it has gone black screen on me a few times, but it's liveable.


Any ideas where to get a PlayStation Remote 2.0 cheap? The cheapest I've seen is $20.

These glasses are rechargeable and "universal," meaning they work with a number of different brands of active shutter 3D displays (the specs list Sony, Samsung, Panasonic, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, and Sharp). It's quite a good deal if you've got a compatible display.
 
These work pretty good with my Panasonic P42ST30 Plasma and PS3. If you are using these with a PS3 or 360 they can recharge via USB port.

Answering my own question, it's $14.99 at Shoppers Drug Mart this week :)
