PS3 3D TV + MLB 12, Extra Glasses: $299 at Gamestop until 3/31

This deal has already been around for almost 2 weeks, it's had a few threads already.

That's quite alright. I just wish they would offer better games than Motorstorm Apocalypse and MLB 12 with it. If they did, then I might even jump on these deals. But sports n racing are so so to me.:whistle2:#

I think they want to showcase games that are both 3D and simulview ready. So your choices for simulview are quite limited.

mlb the show
motorstorm apoc
motorstorm rc
gran turismo 5
killzone 3

I'd jump on this with my gs credit if I hadn't heard so many horror stories about how these stop working after a month.

Same here. I was hoping for cheaper but I do have a lot of Gamestop credit but all the people talking about their problems in the other thread have scared me away from this thing for good.

I've been thinking about buying one for the last several days but all the " it died after 20 hours" posts have made me timid and thinking i'm better off trying to find a decent 32'' tv. I still want one though, i think you can return it if you return all the items in teh bundle if you're unhappy with it.

So if the 3D Display craps out and you trade the games, you can't return it?

I would assume so. Why would they let you keep the rest for free and just return the display? You would have to go through Sony warranty for an exchange.

Not that I'm a litmus test, but I've had mine for 2+ months...and all is well with it. Knock on wood. You might want to consider a Squaretrade warranty...?

Picture is really nice, auto-shutoff helpful. It's a pain in the rear w/o the remote, but a quick $20 solved that (for the PS3 BluRay one via Amazon). Audio is also admittedly terrible, but not a deal breaker.

I really like the 3D effect; it's impressive on certain titles. Glasses, however, make everything seem a tad darker...but are very good quality (passive 3D is just not my thing). Would be eager to try out a 3D BluRay on it.

Simulcast is neat, but I'm admittedly a solo gamer locally. I did, however, buy an extra pair of glasses to show off the 3D to the Mrs. :)

At a risk of stating the obvious: it's small size becomes glaringly noticeable due to the excellent resolution. I have to pull a chair a lot closer to it to play from it.

In short: if you want an inexpensive, extra TV to muck around with in 3D, you really can't go wrong with it @ $300. Even more so when two games I perceive as high quality, extra glasses come with it.

Hope this helps!

I really like the monitor. Except the sound quality is horrible and makes rattling noises if above like 30 on the volume. I do wish there were more picture calibration options. Also i agree get the ps3 remote for it.

Cons
Bad size for big rooms or if ur far from the tv
only 2 HDMI ports
hard to hookup a cable box to it using HDMI
can't use a HDMI switch board
the 3D glasses are cheap
Does not do 2D to 3D conversion
SimulView technology delivers individual full HD screen visuals to each player in two-player mode

Pros
Cheap price about 75 for a 3D display (with the 2 free games and glasses and HDMI cable)
good 3D and 2D
Great sound
Ok size for a small room

Sony is advertising this on the PlayStation website. MSRP is now $299.99 instead of $399.99. All it takes is for Best Buy to do another $100 "sale" and this will hit $200:hot:. At least I'm hoping...

dont buy it unless you want to eventually return/repair it, and if you do buy it, you NEED to also buy a warranty so your looking at $30-40 on top of whatever the price is

U forgot 4 years for 70

This may sound stupid, but did you know that these displays have a special mode to play your psp games in full screen? No more crappy borders! They even run at 120hz!

ive had mine for several months. I use it in my office as a second display for my macbook pro. I have never had a problem. No handshaking issues, the ps3 and 360 work great on it. The glasses are a bit dark, but since I work nights, i usually play it in a pitch black dark room so the 3d effect looks pretty amazing. I guess you could say I fit the small target demographic. I love this display and at 299 I feel I got a good deal. My biggest complaint is the glare. The screen is so glossy, the few times I used it with the shades open in my office, it was near impossible to use. Overall, it is a great way to scratch the 3D gaming itch, especially since I have a 2 year old 55" panasonic in my living room, I cant justify buying another TV just for 3D. This does the trick for cheap
