PS3 Alternative to Halo

Basically as the title suggests, I'm wondering if there's a good alternative to Halo for PS3? And more specific, an alternative to the Halo multiplayer mode (which I believe Bungie did a very good job at).

Please don't suggest I look elsewhere, because I'm sorry, but 830,000 results in 0.34 seconds is just too much to look at.
 
Multiplatform-wise the closest you will get is probably COD4

Exclusively you can wait a little longer and hope Killzone 2's multiplayer is up to par

we are talking about the multiplayer aspect of the game..not the actual game content

actually, I have to agree :applause:
 
I'll admit I haven't played much of Halo, but I did play through Resistance - reminded me a lot of Halo (which would explain why I didn't really like it). I played a bit of the multiplayer of R2 - reminded me a lot of Halo's.

I recommend UT3 over either any day, but sadly no split screen on PS3 :(
 
Resistance 2 is your best bet otherwise you might want to hold off until Killzone 2 is released. Although the multiplayer for Killzone 2 appears to be more Team Fortress than Halo.
 
Resistance has free for all (ie slayer), team-deathmatch, and team objective.

Resistance 2 offers Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag and Skirmish.

The multi-player is a bit different, but it's still really awesome (especially co-op). IMO, that's the best game if you want something Halo like on PS3.

Killzone 2 will be a great FPS; however, I'd say that kind of reminds me of CoD4 more so than Halo (because it looks more realistic).
