I have a PS fat with full bc. I have played multiple PS1 games on it with no problem. I put on an all time classic Return Fire and the game locks up every time. Nooooooo!!!!!!! Is there some PS1 games that just don't work? Anyway around this? No I don't wanna just hook a PS1/Two up.
Thanks.

I think the original PS3 essentially had a PS1 on a chip and the later PS3 with BC was run by an emulator, so my guess is that there could be more problems with emulation.

if you search it im sure you can find a list somewhere that says what game do or dont work as a matter of fact i think theres a list here on cag.all ps3s even slims play ps1 games.

Final Fantasy II on the Final Fantasy Origins will freeze every time you get to the big juggernaut airship.

Yeah, same thing with the PS2 BC. There's a small list of games (the FF Origins being one I own) that didn't work right.

No, they all have the same PS1 BC I believe.

Thanks for the info. On the links no results for Return Fire. It worked on my PS2, don't have it anymore and the PS3 does such a great job making PS1 games not look like total duduu on an HDTV.

I always turn off all the enhancements for PS1 games when playing them on my PS3. I don't have many PS1 games, but it's remarkable how many issues crop up with them. Ridge Racer Type 4 gets music issues, and Soul Blade slows down in the final fight if you have the smoothing, disc speed enhancement, and other stuff on.

With all enhancements off, I haven't found anything completely unplayable.

Some PS1 games just run glitchy on the PS3 (same goes for the PS2 running PS1 games). Their really isn't anything you can do about it. Basically the PS3 has 95-99% compatibility with the PS1.
