ps3/blueray help

Initially it used to be the best because it was internet capable so you didn't need to worry about incompatibilities and firmware updates, plus the cost was a big factor when standalones were $500-600. Now, you can probably find a standalone for $150 with BDLive and all that. If you're at all interested in any games, for sure get the PS3. I got mine primarily for blu-ray, and it turned out I'm an MLB the Show addict, and love some Uncharted too. As a blu-ray player, it's pretty feature packed, you're not really losing out on anything either. As an all-in-one, go for it. Movies only, you can do cheaper.

AFAIK the PS3 still has the best performance when it comes to blu-rays alone. Add into that the fact that it can play PS3 games, along with everything else for $150 more than a BR player itself and, personally, PS3 wins hands down.

Thanks very much mrosnwo and Anhmeister,i was look at the games for it for it and mag, uncharted and heavy rain caught my eye, plus there are deals in my local xtria vision with two free blue rays when you buy a ps3

The Ps3 is an awesome blu ray player it also does a nice job with up conversion of regular dvds. Its also simply blu ray and not blue ray lol.
