Hi.

First i would like to say that it is f***ing stupid that the PS3 cost so much in Europe.:bomb: :bomb: :bomb: :bomb:
But enough about high prices in the EU.
I would like to know if a PS3 bought in USA will work in Europe?
I know that there is a regional lock thing in it. But not on the games?!?
And then there is the power supply? In USA there is 110V/60Hertz?
I live in Denmark, and here we have 230V/50Hertz. Will the PS3 from USA work in Denmark???

You will need a transformer for the ps3 to work.
I use a usa Ps3 through a transformer over here in germany which also uses the 230v instead of northamerica 110v

no region locks on PS3 games but locks are still on the PS 1 and PS 2 games u might play on the PS3.
I'm not sure about the blu ray movies if those have region locks or not.

Hi. Thanks for the quick reply.
Where can you buy that transformer?
And where in the US did you buy it? Because the pages that i have seen, don't send international.

I actually bought mine when i was in the states on launch day :)

hmmm As for a transformer im not sure where you can buy those in denmark.

Also im not sure how many watts a PS3 would need
the more watts the bigger transformer you will need.
the bigger the transformer the more money they cost.

But i would maybe call around whatever electronic stores you have in denmark
or possible pawn shops and buy a used transformer for a lot less then new.

Or you just might have to buy one in denmark at a high price :whistle2:(
Do you think that the PS3 uses less than 300Watt??
And does the HDD size matter?
hdd shouldnt matter at all.
I just did a search and came back with PS3 wattage use is 185-205 watts

So a 300 watt transformer should be fine.

My george forman grill uses 900 watts!

I live in the UK and I have a 60GB US PS3 (fully backwards compatible \o/ ). It doesn't need a transformer or anything (at least for me), it plugs straight into the wall and works perfectly.

I personally use a US forwarding address to have stuff sent here from the states. Failing that, the best option is to find someone you trust who'll be willing to ship it for you.
