PS3 Console 20GB (Japan version) $329

Damn, then I can't get it. I'm trying to find a 300 ish PS3. TRU has one for 299, but it's in store only, and there aren't any stores near me that have 20 gigs in.

I wanted a Japanese system for the bc. Shit but it uses Google Checkout only. I guess I'll have to pass or have it shipped to a friend I'll get it from.
I don't want my address on file with Arsenal Gear aka Google after all.
 
All PS3s are region free in that they can play any PS3 games and most Blu-Ray movies... But the BC is region locked. Also, a few games run censored on Japanese consoles, whether they're the American discs or not.

Don't know. I know the reverse for Genji is true though, well with the Japanese version having blood and the U.S. game having it taken out. Is that game in the bargain bins already or what? ;-)

Looks to be with the VeriSign bit and the Virus Scan bit. I'm mostly concerned about the Google Checkout bit.

Uncharted actually does mention the censorship thing in its Wikipedia entry... The other 2 censored games that we know of are Resistance and Ninja Gaiden Sigma. Thankfully, you can get around the Resistance censorship with a US save file, but I haven't heard about Sigma's situation.

Only a few games - no big deal, right? Except Resistance 2 and God of War 3 could take the Uncharted path, which would totally suck. We'll see.
 
Unless you are in the NYC area and somehow are able to get them on the phone , verify, and physically go pick up the product this is ok. BUT do not do it over the internet.

I actually have delt with a company just like this one. Crappy web site, but they had a local address in NYC to pick my product up from(paid when i got there and checked product). It was a loft space in Manhattan. The item I got from them was legit, but I can see how the internet sales would have issues. The ups guy actually came while I was in the place to see if they had any pick-ups. Very disorganised they were.

Bottom line...
If you can touch/feel it. go for it.
You have faces and locations that you can verify. any problems , be ready to battle tho
 
What a coincidence. I was wondering recently if the PS3's are region free just like the PSP's. So the US PS3's can play PS3 JAP games? A game store in Chinatown sells japanese PS3 games and I thought about buying one.
