PS3 Dead how much can i get for it?

My ps3 died a few days ago and when it turn on and went green for a second flash yellow and went red and beeped a few times. Now i'm wouunding If i can get any cash for it. Its an orginal 60 GB modle and need to know if i can pull my hard drive and plug into a new ps3 ? Any help from you guys would be great.
 
If you put your harddrive in another PS3, it will format it. The only way you'll be able to keep your saves and such is to fix your current PS3.
 
id suggest taking it to a local dude pay around $70 get it fixed. Than back up your saves and close your accounts. Than sell it for lik 100 and buy a slim. Cause once you get ylod it Always returns its just a matter of time. If you sell it as is you'll only be getting lik $70 for parts maybe cause for the ps2 playback.
 
I've sold mine for 45 since it YLOD twice,I had the 80gb B/C model, sucks since i bought it since launch date but it is what it is.
If you got it running again make sure to deactivate it soon because i've forgotten all about til it was too late. Mine died 3 weeks later after the fix. I've heard some only got it to work for less then a week. And i agree with ChibiJosh, it will ask you to reformat if the hard drive get swap.
 
I believe I got about $100 for my YLOD 60GB OG. Although, that was over a year ago now (last Black Friday I believe)....so not a year.
