PS3 deals lower than $499??

Anyone suspect or know of any deals coming where the PS3 will be lower than $499? I know that CC sometimes has "take an additional XX % off" deals on things. I really want to pick up a Back Compat. 60gb PS3, but the $499 is stil a bit hard to justify for my wife. She isn't a gamer.

Anyway, if anyone knows of, or hears of deals putting the PS3 lower than $499, please post or shoot me a PM.

Thanks.

I wonder if you can stack the 10% off from AAA website, need to be a member, on top of the 10% off first purchase with the Target Card? That would be beefy.

Hmmmm. The fine print states that you can't combine it with other discounts or promotional offers.

^And how does 10% off $500 equal $360???

Well, I guess if they had the 20GB model in stock AND they were selling it for $400, then 10% off would have made it $360. As it is right now though, you can't buy either model from Target.com.

I'm going to go ahead and try to use the $40 off of $200 coupon at CC today. When you buy a new console you're supposed to get a card for the Circuit City Gamers Savings Club good for 10% off games and accessories for one year. It's not as good as the free controller promo, but at least when SIXAXIS with rumble comes out I'll be able to save 10% on it.

Personally, I really want the built-in wifi in the 60 GB. It's just not feasible for me to run a cable from my router to a PS3 right now so the 20 GB is out.

Also, my attempt to use the $40 off coupon ultimately failed. The clerk scanned the coupon and it took the $40 off but then I had to go running my dumb mouth and asking about the free membership to the Gamers Savings Cub. The clerk knew nothing about it and he had to call over another associate to figure out what to do. The new associate started the transaction over and, wouldn't you know it, he decided to check the coupon. No gaming consoles. Sooooo close.

In retrospect I should have bought the PS3 when the coupon took the first time and forgotten about the stupid savings card. If worse came to worse and I absolutely had to have the card, I probably could have gone back with my receipt and gotten it... which is exactly what I'll be doing if I can get a different clerk next time I go back. ;)

Well I traded in R6 Vegas and Forza2 and got $50 credit at GameStop, so I'm probably just going to apply that to it and buy one there I guess. They did tell me that they sell used PS3's for $450 (60gb model which is what I want), but I never asked about warranty on it. I suppose that if I could get them to offer the GS warranty for minimal cost, then it wouldn't be bad. If it broke, I'd just have to bring it in and they'd have to give me a new one, but there's just something about buying new that I prefer.

sonystyle.com has their $150 discount if you sign up for their credit card. Their is a thread in the video game deals section.
