I was playing MK on the PS3 the other day, and I was having a blast. However, my thumb was starting to hurt from the d-pad. I'm a huge novice when it comes to fighting games, so I don't want to spend much ($40 at the most). Do any of you recommend a fight pad over a stick, or vice versa? If so, any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Not going to get a good stick for $40 unless you get extremely lucky but a fightpad is much better than the standard controller.

It's not that great for games like street fighter, but for mk where you don't need complicated movements it should work alright.

if your looking for a good controller the hori fighting commander 3 is the best out there right now plus its in your price range.
