Seems like he likes buying games more than actually playing them...
I play a decent amount of them per day, just in small spurts. Yesterday I played an hour of Uncharted, 45 mins of Monsters Vs. Aliens, an hour of Dark Void, 30 mins of Legends of Wrestlemania. I probably have ADD.
I can see some people not understanding why I have/buy so many games. It's a hobby/habit. Probably a bad one. But it's not like I forego my electric bill or car payment to go buy games. I only spend a little extra cash once in awhile to pick up a few when I find good deals. My friends borrow some (I'm not an anal-retentive jerk but I'm careful about who borrows my games) and they usually either pitch me a few bucks to be nice since it's cheaper then a rental (and I have a bigger selection anyway) or when they are done with a game they own that I don't have and are feeling generous they sometimes just hand it over to me for little to no cost.
My girlfriend of 7+ years asked questions at first, when the games got to be in the 30s and 40s...then I went nuts and traded almost all of them in when I got a Wii to get a few Wii games (namely Smash Bros and Mario Galaxy0. After a few weeks, she looked at me at said "I kinda miss your huge stack of PS3 games. You shouldn'tve got rid of them because of me. You should start collecting again if that what makes you happy".
So when I was DONE with the Wii (which not to bash but only took like 4 months), I traded it all and got some games back and decided that I'd start collecting again. Mind you, my GF will NEVER buy me games as a gift because she thinks I'm building a library just fine on my own, but it's honestly a fun conversation piece for her and our house guests. They are shown around the house, and they see my room (Man Cave), and the 6 stacks of ps3 games and I always get a funny/awesome reaction. I've had people ask me if I robbed someone/a business, if I owned a video store, etc. It's just a hobby.
My sister Rosie has a similar obsession: Betty Boop. It's pretty bad. Check here for the video the local news in California shot at her house (Sacramento, CA). Craziness.

Thanks to everyone who's posted about my collection, no mater if it impresses or disgusts or confuses, I understand.
