PS3 is $499 at Target NOW! (7/7/07) Confirmed from several non-CAG sources...
Pretty important not to forget Culdcept Saga. It's a very different sort of RPG.
In that case, don't forget to mention The Eye of Judgment, White Night Story, and a new Shin Megami Tensei in the works for the PS3. And of course Final Fantasy XIII. :p

In regards to the 5 free Blu-Ray movies:

Maybe this has not been addressed, but by flooding the market with the free Blu-Ray discs will drive the value of each of those movies down. While you could sell your free 5 movies for a decent amount if you get the movies early on in this promotion, by September no one will be interested in paying more than a few bucks for your Blu-Ray copy of The Italian Job.
Why do people say they don't want a PS3 because it doesn't have any good games and then say something about getting a Wii for half as much?
Because it costs half as much and does have good games to play? The PS3 only has a couple goods games out right now, with more to be released in the future. But I'm not buying because $500 is still too much for me to spend on a game console. The games I'm interested in are on the Wii, anyway.
I wasn't aware the Wii had any games worth playing.
Either you haven't done your homework or what you meant to say was the Wii doesn't have any games you're interested in. It most definitely has currently released games worth playing...I just clocked in another 6 hours yesterday.

Definitely true and I was thinking that. If your lucky, you have a friend or family that has no clue about this and sell it to them for $15-$20 each ;)

I've heard these sorts of rumors regarding the next-gen consoles for a while now. The idea being there won't be normal price drops, but instead constantly putting out better specs for the same costs (as Apple tends to do with its techology). If true, it seems insane to me to leave the sub-$200 crowd untapped.

Man thats a good price for a Blu Ray Player right now....O wait, you said playstation? what exactly does it "play"? It sure as hell isnt quality videogames.

Ah ha ha ha ha. O wait as long as PS3 doesn't "Play" with your mom, I'm sure it's a great game system. ^__^

Well PS3 will officially take this Christmas with the new price drop and all the awesome games they have coming. :)

According to Joystiq

Report: Sony cuts PS3 price by $100, $599 80GB model hitting North America in August

According to a syndicated Associated Press report, Sony has confirmed that the 60GB model of the PlayStation 3 will receive a $100 cut in price, effective as of Monday. Bizarrely, Sony is unwilling to leave a $499 model to fend for itself in the retail world and will be introducing another PS3 SKU at the universally loved $599 price point -- one bolstered by an 80GB hard drive and a copy of gratuitously grimy racer, MotorStorm. The more expensive model is due for release in North America this August.

I highly doubt that. Even with a $100 price drop, the PS3 is still too expensive. And as far as awesome games go, I don't see anything coming this fall on the PS3 that'll beat the lineup on the 360.

Extremely doubtful, the 360 is still $100 cheaper (possibly more if MS announces price cut) and the Wii is half the price. I see an increase in sales, but hardly enough to catch up with the 360, and the Wii isn't going to slow down in sales till atleast next year if that.

it also sure as hell doesn't have pathetic overheating problems

Is Poolking99 a full-on at-all-costs PlayStation hater?

Anyone in Michigan post away if you see any of our lazy ass Targets drop the price please. I'm looking to score a system very soon.

Seriously, keep the fanboyism to a minimum here please...take it elsewhere.

I'm interested on how soon chains start marking these down. The PS3 gets more tempting at this price but I'd rather get one at BB.

In response to the washington target inquiry the one in woodinville hasn't lowered the price, but I dunno about any of the others around seattle.
Ah, I didn't even know that was possible. You can checkout, walk immediately over to the service desk and pay your card off?
Just reconcile the full balance of your bill when it arrives to avoid any finance charges (just like how every other credit card works)...I can't believe this isn't common knowledge. :)

That's how all credit cards work? I thought you got whacked with a finance charge every bill, regardless if the charges were new to that month or not.

does anyone else see the 60GB console disappearing like the 20GB? i mean, if the only difference in packages is 20GB and a packed in motorstorm, wouldn't you go for the cheaper? its not like you're ever going to need more than 60GB anyway. that, and sony is already loosing so much money on every system sold.
Hey guys! IMO the PS3 will break all your blurays and steal you moneys IMHO. IMHO it is not worth more then 20 dollars IMO
wow -- you only pay finance charges if you have an outstanding balance on your card for the next month, meaning if you pay your balance in full each month you'll never pay finance charges.

it's called a grace period, btw. this is credit card 101, dude -- if you don't know this stuff, you def. should. Try reading this site:
