[quote name='Jimmienoman']You might be right now. I know their official stance previously was any PM (even to their own website) was a PM (I frequent the BBY forums).
But the latest thread alluded to allowing it. Albeit these are newer mods that were hired not too long ago though.
Here's the newest thread:

A few years ago when Best Buy started the Upgrade and Save DVD program I wanted to get Office Space. This was before it was any movie $9.99 and up, but was for select movies, Office Space being one of those. The website listed the movie as $7.99, but in store it was $9.99. No where on the website did it say Online Only, but the store refused to match it, saying it was the $5 off or the $2 off from the PM.
This made no sense to me, because I was not matching a competitor but Best Buys own price. I called and spoke with corporate when I was in the store, they agreed, a Best Buy price is a BB price. They even spoke to the store but the store still refused. After talking with the rep on the phone they gave me like $20-25 in rewards, at this point I was in the store for around an hour or so.
They then transferred me to an in store specialist who also agreed I was 100% correct and personally called the store and made them sell me the movie for $3. I know it was only $2, but it turned into the principle. The store even refused to listen to corporate at first which blew my, and the person on the phones, mind.
Long story short, according to an experience I had 2 or so years ago this was always the case, but some stores like to make up their own rules.
