I received an email also, but with the news my order was cancelled, so it looks like some lucky people got their orders in early enough.
 
I got the same email, just that my order status is "Cancelled" at their website

I hate to say it, but I too have been denied. I guess there was no hope at all, but I had to try. :(

Problem with using the discount on a PS3 when available, is the coupon is only good till 11/6. Probably NOT enough time to use it on the system... Super :(

Was in Chicago on work during the EB launch, after talking to the store manager about pre-ordering a week before. Then the Toys 'R Us mess, with everyone on the planet there a week in advance. Now the Tiger mess. Is there any hope left???

I got the same e-mail as well. It was definitely worth a shot. Hopefully, all of us who struck out at Toys "r' Us and EB Games/Gamestop can snag a pre-order bundle online. As a few posters have already stated, if you break down bundles from reputable stores down into individual costs, you seldom get ripped off. I don't mind a decent bundle. Hopefully this whole EB Games midnight pre-order thing goes through.

If you even knew the half of it. This is just good business sense. There is no reason to buy a PS3 day one other then to be the "cool kid" in school. And I am long passed those days.

There are no must have launch titles, the first gen PS3 WILL all break before they should, and if you wait you can get it for cheaper (speaking of someone who spends $1400 for it off eBay)

I am not saying you shouldnt spend retail for it day one if you can. Well, maybe if you are one of the ones who were crying about the high price when it was announced. And I would never lie to someone about someplace not having it just so that I can get an extra one to scalp. I just do not understand paying twice the retail value for it off of eBay.

And I stopped being a proper gamer when I was 17. Do not regret it at all.
 
You really shouldn't judge a person just because they want a PS3 on day one. The same way a "non-sports enthusiast" could state you shouldn't shell out $200 for a game seven World Series ticket when you could watch it for free on TV. I think being a CAG member here justifies that they are here because they love games, not because they want to look cool. Sure some will do that, but those are the mainstream crowd who probably does not hang around these boards.

As long as there isn't another goofy ass one with a TV like the 360 had through EB.
 
I guess you all fell for tigerdirect's "viral marketing" campaign.

I guess it's just as shady as thier rebate programs and overpriced shipping ;)
