a few days late, but got some birthday presents tonight too. transformers dark spark, need for speed rivals, lego marvel, and shadows of mordor(!!!) all ps4, of course.

 
got an email about the evolve alpha being postponed on ps4 due to "difficulties" on firmware 2.00. i'm just going to assume it's because people were share playing it, and they didn't like that.

 
So got the plat on Guacamelee and got another couple chapters done in Shadow Warrior.

Shadow Warrior is still completely awesome, except that the chapters are a little bit bloated.  Why are the chapters so long?  Even the boss chapters are long because the bosses are complete bullet sponges.  In the end I know I'm gonna feel like that game is about 4-6 hours too long.

Vig was personally recognized by a developer that was, at the very least, successful enough to make it to the PS4 and that's pretty fucking cool. And whether or not you like that type of game, you can't deny that it was put together a lot better than some of the trash that makes it to consoles. I'm happy for him, even if he does post shitty gifs.

anyone ever have such bad connections on portal 2? I have the digital version so i will delete and reinstall, but if I try to invite tehcro then it says can't invite wrong address, and if I try to join it goes to the co op screen and only one dot fills up and it won't let me join. We had no problems a few days ago...

After the massive rash of server issues that they just barely duct taped back together it was kind of completely moronic for them to put it on a deep digital sale. I'm sure the number of people trying to play it online tripled from 4 to 12!

but yeah, that sounds like when it was broken. The only advice I have is to make sure to wait until the steam overlay 'works' and it shows your steam account at the top before even trying to invite anyone. Usually takes 2-3 minutes idling on the intro screen. But they might've rebroken it, who knows.

 
I imagine it's targeted, but paypal gave me $10 off $50 paypal digital gifts notified by emailz (not a code, just added to your account that you'll see when you checkout).  So if you generally ignore paypal email you might want to take a looksie or just try checking out at paypal digital gifts.  Picked up a $50 psn card for $40 to hopefully get me through the rest of the year.

There's probably already been 5 deal forum threads about this, but I might start another one since the discount expires in two days.

It was from a family member that knows nothing about games. Probably grabbed it cause they know I like transformers. I have to give them a little credit for that. If it's really that bad, I'll just take it to Walmart Monday for the call of duty trade.

Those best buy threads with the 50% bonus trade in promo and the 30 dollars for GCU for 2 years are nightmares.

Did anyone else notice the minor change for trophies in 2.0 on PS4?  Now when one pops, it has the account name and avatar above the notification window.  I do not recall that.  There is also a little icon that shows the PS button.  If you press it, it takes you to that particular trophy in the trophy list.  Both are minor, but useful additions.

Is there anything on sale this week that everyone sees as a must-buy? I've had my eyes on Guacamelee for a long time but I know by the time I get around to playing it I'll have probably had the chance to buy it cheaper. Same with TWD season 2 pass.

that second one is especially welcome. coming from 360 it always bugged me that I couldn't just quickly figure out what the hell a trophy was for by pressing a button. glad they added that.

read about the impending x1 deals this morning. really, if you can get a sunset overdrive bundle and they message you a free copy of ryse afterwards all for $350 that ain't too bad. if you combine that with something like the $10 off coupon at target + 5% red card (+ 5% pharmacy rewards coupon if you have one) you'd be down to $330 for the console and two (digital) games after tax. if sunset is physical in that bundle even better.

still, when the second comment in that free ryse thread was 'microsft just made sony its bitch' or whatever I got a solid chuckle.

Sorry, I meant no offense. Taking it to Walmart is a great idea, and Best Buy might be a good backup option (the current base TIV is $23, but it's unknown if it'll change for the 50% bonus that starts tomorrow).

It's a little grindy, but nothing you can't handle. Make sure you know the size of the fish you're after, because it makes a difference. Also fishing for specific fish becomes much easier later in the game when you have more control over things - I know that's vague, but I don't want to spoil anything!

Thanks. I may go for the plat, we'll see. The main one that kinda worries me is the 5 deaths one. I already died once because I jumped into the water before I knew it killed you and couldn't get back out in time.

I don't think those deaths count. Only the "game over" ones count, and the game gets easier as you get more powerful so you really won't have to worry.

Sweet, that's good to know. If I don't get the plat on this playthrough I'll probably be going back to finish it later once I've made more progress on the backlog. It's a beautiful game.

no worries. thanks for the heads up on best buy, i normally don't bother checking them. if it holds, i might just bite on gcu, and if it works with fantasy life.

I tried to go back to Joe Danger 2 today after starting it over a year ago and giving up on it pretty quickly. I think I'm about to give up on it for good. Maybe I just suck at it or maybe it's not my kind of game. I don't have the patience to try to perfect all these fucking levels. I liked Trials on 360, but this game isn't any fun for me.

It's not that bad. It is definitely much worse that both High Moon games but it was decent from the time I spent with it
