I just got the "threat detected" trophy in CoD. In the warehouse type area in the mission "Fission" throw a threat grenade as there are a ton of enemies.

Oh you CoD vets already got that trophy? Nevermind then. fuck ers.
that could have been achieved int he first 5 minutes... was the first trophy to pop...

PS4 trophies on youtube already has a guide for all single player trophies and they are super simple. Gives you a place to do each as well...

Just for the record, I won't be participating in the trophy contest. I know this comes as a huge relief to you competitors. You dodged a bullet. I'll play Hungry Horde, though, and not worry about trophies unless I finish the game and want more.

The trophy competition is Vigilante plays for 48 hours straight and everyone plays it normally.

I queued up all the PS+ games I don't have, even Escape Plan. Binding I seemed to have to add both the Vita and PS4 versions to the cart. Escape Plan wouldn't allow me to do that, but I assume I have both. So either Binding is not actually cross-buy, or this is just more wonkiness in how cross-buy works.

So we're doing Hungry Horde for the competition blind, then? The trophy list still hasn't surfaced online and I won't be able to look at the list myself until I download it at home in more than an hour.
I'm not sure, but do you not understand that no one else cares about the competition anymore? They aren't just joking about it. Since you do care though just pick whatever game you want and pretend you're competing against other people.

I noticed the same. I picked the Escape Plan that said PS4|Vita since the other just said PS4. For some reason, there were 2 versions of Steamworld Dig that both said PS4|Vita and it let you add both to the cart.

In that case I guess I picked the wrong one. So dumb. But at least everybody says this game is bad so I won't worry about it too much.

I'm pretty happy about Steamworld since Stotch claimed one of the trophies made him the greatest all around gamer of all time.

Too bad LEGO Harry Potter years 1-4 is disc only. Was just gonna show the boy the first movie this weekend. Have to find a cheap copy somewhere.

I thought In-N-Out only hires atheists?
Heh. Just asking because they have those stealth bible verses on all their wrappers and cups. That and the fact that I never had a negative experience with any of their workers... they were always super nice and cheerful.

Cause they're getting paid at least $11/hr and get benefits.

I vote for the Spelunky Daily Challenge Challenge, but I have a feeling we are going to lose people if we run it for a full month, so I'd say just run it for a week. One play per day for 7 days, then contest over. Unless there's a tie, in which case there will be another day added for those tied players. So a max of 8 days. Maybe people will actually participate?

You do the daily challenge each day. I check the friend leaderboard the next day and tally up points. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 points for 1st through 5th (or some such arrangement, depending on how many people are going to play). Most points after the 7 day period wins. If there's a tie for first, then there's an extra day added for the tied players only.

I think that would be fun.

How long does the daily challenge take?

How long does the daily challenge take?
It depends entirely upon how good or bad you do and how methodical you are. It's no different than a normal run, it's just that everybody gets the same exact level. You could try it tonight and see how long your run lasts. Pro tip: enable the Pro HUD in the options. It will show you elapsed time for both the current level and for the entire run. Bonus pro tip: the ghost comes out at 2:30.

Oh, and cool new feature in Spelunky PS4 is you find the ghost of friends where they died if they played the DC before you. If you stop on top of them it will tell you how they died. Also you can watch replays (after you take your run, not before) if they played on PS4. They'll be adding these things to PS3 and Vita in a coming update.

Could you use that feature to "cheat", though, and get farther than they did? I suppose you could still die the same way, but you would have the advantage of at least knowing where they died.

I don't think it helps much. I mean I guess if you see their ghost that gives you a heads up that there is danger, but there is danger everywhere in Spelunky. If you aren't looking for it, you are going to die.

Ah. I've never played the game so I wouldn't stand a chance, just curious. Thought it might have been different from a normal run.

Hey, I've never played it either and I'm up to the challenge. :twoguns:
I was thinking it may have been like a 20 - 30 minute challenge different from a normal run, which was the reason I considered it. Would have been easier for me to make time for that.

Although I suppose I'd probably suck so bad that it would probably only take me that long anyway.

it'd be cool if we could find 4 games that had daily challenges and do a different game per week based on the Crunchewy Method.

or we could just compete for pinball scores.

hey wait isn't there a separate thread to talk about this rabble rabble

fuck you guys I'm going home

Incidentally, I don't think Race the Sun would work as well for a contest like this even though it kind of has a daily challenge (the whole game is a daily challenge), since, unlike Spelunky, you can try the same level over and over for 24 hours. So aside from that giving the advantage to people with more time for it, Vig would probably die from an embolism after 168 straight hours of video gaming. We'd have that on our shoulders for the rest of our lives.

Also it doesn't have a friend leaderboard. WTF?
