Most of these are multi-plat. Any reason you want to play them on Vita specifically? BL2 is better on PS3 (and was on PS+), and AC:L has a really shitty MP component on Vita that was removed for the HD version. Sly is supposed to be a really good port, though I played it on PS3 and it's definitely aged well. FFX and P4G are both really good.

Also KZ:M is a really good FPS especially for handheld.
I like the flexibility of playing on the Vita is pretty much the reason. BL2 is the only one that I can say really suffers from going to the Vita, and I have a feeling that I will get used to it once I put some actual time into it.

A challenge, but nothing too bad. I would recommend doing a normal playthrough and get all the upgrades and sidequests in that playthrough so that you can just focus on fightning in the hard playthrough. By the time you finish normal you will be really good at offense so that you can spend the hard playthrough just focusing on mastering defense.
Any tips for defense? I probably will need them.

I'm going to set up the Divisions for the Spelunky challenge tomorrow.  Newer guys, make sure not to get to the Temple now, I'm thinking of using that as the cutoff of novice vs. expert.
just wait, they'll have some kind of deal off of a year in the next week or two, guarantee it.
I already did it. If they have a deal I'll just add more time.

Therm, are the books pretty good? I haven't read any of them
I've read the first two, but it's been years. The movies bear no resemblance to the books outside the first, and even that was changed quite a bit and not in good ways.

JB's (real name David Webb) backstory is pretty different. He was a foreign service officer with a wife and two kids. They got killed in a bombing during the Vietnam War, so he had nothing to live for and so agreed to become JB. He's got quite a death wish. Due to his situation, he's willing to become Jason Bourne.

Jason Bourne was originally an alias used by multiple government agents for black ops work. The whole point of David Webb using the Jason Bourne persona in the books was to draw out the world's greatest assassin, Carlos, by having Bourne steal his business. Basically he'd go running around performing assassinations, but they'd have other people doing the same job under the same name in order to boost Bourne's rep for the crazy schedule. Carlos would come out to eliminate the competition and Bourne would kill him. That's what leads into the confrontation on the boat, where JB loses his memory. JB and Carlos fight again in the first book, and then again in the 3rd. In the movies they kill off Carlos right away and change the concept for Bourne entirely.

The homeless chick in the movie is another big change. In the books she was a Canadian businesswoman. She's very competent and very grounded (though written from a very male perspective and and she quickly becomes very focused on JB.) The second book is all about some people wanting to use JB's assassination skills, so they kidnap her and he goes absolutely nuts. Not in the Taken style of going after revenge, but literally nuts. He's completely out of control without her. She's the more focal character than he is in the book. In the movie they just kill her off in the opening scene.

Elder Gods of PSNOT, RNGesus. I pray to you to give me the strength to complete this convoluted set of requirements in Isaac to unlock the final character.
It worked! If you are ever planning on going for all the trophies in Isaac, either use a guide or ask me about this, because I never would have figured it out entirely on my own. Now I just have to do it again on PC...

Watching this chick stream, it's pretty clear that the internet is filled with people who are exactly like Snakey. I'm starting to feel like being normal is actually weird.

Interesting. It always sucks when they drastically change a movie from the source material. They sound like pretty interesting books though. Maybe I'll give the first one a shot once I get through some of books I'm in the middle of right now
Why? I like this. Walking Dead comic and show are drastically different, which means I can enjoy both mediums. It's based on the book, not a moment to moment replica.

Well, it depends on what it is. If it is a book that I really like, then I would like to see a movie that recreates the book. If it is something that I only kind of like, then I don't mind as much when it changes. I don't care so much about small changes, but drastic changes tend to lead to something I like much less than the source

Ender, how the hell would you take no damage during that fight against Mom? Seems impossible with all the crap flying around.
3 ways. Good dodging and luck, really overpowered (some runs are strong enough to kill her in one hit), or 1 hit kill with the Bible

Edit: I thought I had it, but I only have it on PC. Same strategies apply though. If you can get an Emperor card you can teleport straight to her on Depths II and use the Bible

So if you get the bible, basically try to avoid damage for the rest of that section? What about the last part?

Haha you must have been reading the same isaac sites I was checking out earlier. I also saw the term rngesus for the first time today ;)
Not sure if Isaac started it, but we've been using it in the Isaac community for a long time. That and we like to joke that Isaac runs on the Troll engine because it loves to screw you over

You will have to keep me up to date on you Isaac adventures Velo. And let me know if you need any help with anything

In normal playthrough they do less damage so in most cases you can just take the hit and keep fighting until you kill someone that gives you an HP pick-up. In hard the damage received goes up so you need to start using the dodge roll button more often which gives you a brief window of invincibility. Also if you are starting to get overwhelmed and you don't have the stamina for a super, use grab and throw enemies at packs of enemies in order to knock them down or toss them up and across the room in order to separate it from the pack. Throw is not necessarily about damaging them it's about crowd control and buying time for your stamina to charge. If I remember right, you are also temporarily invulnerable in the 1-2 seconds you have to pick a throw direction when you do it in midair.

rngesus is used in the communities of just about any random loot/drop game on the market.

Good, I already use these tactics, so it shouldn't be impossible for me to get through it then. Like you said, I will just have to do them even more.

Grabbed a $10 PSN card with my free $5 from Best Buy and bought Lego Marvel :pS4: for $8.  Pretty good deal.  Now if I can get downloaded after Issac...

Catchin up to ya TT score Velo. Just got another plat
The fact a new call of duty out doesn't help me at all, I hit level 50 yesterday and thinking of whether to prestige or fight the addiction. I really wish I could plat and trade this in, but it just gets me going. i called in 3 system hacks in one round yesterday and I love that trolling. ;)

also Endergeek, yeah I just had a freakn fantastic run starting with rotten baby and then i got polyphemus eye and then symbol of the night so I was flying and super shooting by the 2nd or 3rd floor (got lucky and got devil room 1st boss fight). and then I accidently got monstro lung, but it actually worked great cuz it was big and spectral and huge damage, and then I got arror penetration thing so it was even better and I was charging up and one shotting bosses and dodging and letting my fly do all the work, and I got to the fight 2 fights after that final fight, and my 2 kids jump up on my lap and I die instantly. Tried another 2 runs and it was horrible so I quit. RNGesus!

yeah and crazy how lucky my first run is still after these post runs. I didnt know anything about hidden rooms and subweapons and of this stuff. I am glad I wasn't able to access the internet cuz now I am trying to fight looking up what certain items do. My son and I were running back and forth looking up stuff. I need to knock that off and just go blind.

It'll all come eventually. Polyphemus is fantastic. That sounds like something that would make M Lung worth it. The thing with Isaac is that while you still don't know what everything does you will lose. A lot. But, once you learn the items and learn secrets and strategies you can learn to make pretty much any run work. It's why I played the original so much and why I will keep playing Rebirth for a long time. Glad to hear that you are enjoying it so far!

If you do want an easy to use site for what stuff will do: http://platinumgod.co.uk/rebirth

Sorry, I'm not helping you not look stuff up with this lol

Now I wish I would have went to the sports bar to watch the game. Bet the bears fans are slamming their beers, and cursing the packers fans, haha.

Well, it certainly didn't take much longer for Spelunky to start irritating me. I made it to the Jungle, but died in 2-1 thanks to it being pitch-black.
